I am lucky enough to live in Powdersville and get to see this band frequently. I guess I'm a groupie by now. I just got their new CD- AWESOME!!!! I'll be at Just More in Pendlleton on Saturday- see you there.
hi from ms. ya"ll. you guys are perfect. i know bluegrass having grown up with 4 brothers that have a bluegrass band back in bristol va., and i think you guys are just fantastic. thanks for sharing. 5stars. margie , from ms.
Banjos are simply the loudest instrument in a bluegrass format. Not much you can do about it really. It's the guitarists that usually get drowned out the most. A good band knows how to let the person taking the ride rise and shine by backing off or "muting" thier rythym volume a bit.
I see there are alot of comments on the banjo volume , best way to fix that is a Collings D-1A guitar & Collings M-F5V mandolin , the picking is very good guys I am fond of a 4 piece bluegrass band ( Fred from Bluegrass 409 )
Nice to see you guys without the ties. I liked your show on the south carolina channel, but the shirts and ties looked out of place. Great playing btw!
Guys, you are great. Just a constructive thought. Why not let the banjo do chops (well sort of) when the mandolin is taking the lead? Seemed too busy. This is suggested in the kindest of ways. Okay? When I listen to Quick Silver I hear the banjo lay back and play simple chops to let the mandolin ring through.
Yes I am. Got a Weber Yellowstone. Just trying to help out. There's no harm intended here for your banjo guy. I think he's really good. It could be a forest and trees thing for him. Quick Silver is the best example of can think of where each one lays back while the other does his thing. That's what makes them so good I believe.

Dude, banjo sounds are at the heart of bluegrass! If you want to listen to mandolins, take a gondola in Venice!
