He's so well spoken! I agree with just about everything he says here. "Man, woman, tree..." Thanks Johnny for being such a strong, clear, and intelligent voice. The world needs more artists like you!
I think there's a lot of envy and jealousy of Johnny's wonderful talent by the judges and figure skating authorities. Those in power never like anybody who is "different" or eccentric in a very original, talented way, especially if they're gifted, as you are. You deserved the Gold, and to me, you'll always be a true Olympian!!
@sammywright07 i don't get it neither. i think they simply don't like his eccentricity and so don't want johnny to represent the united states, because he's not a perfect example of "real man" and also not so "straight" and "muscular".......they don't like johnny's "being true to himself"....:/ another reason could be his obssesion with russia what they are mad about.
@lowecourtney, I know, but even if those are the reasons, they have nothing to do with his skating, which is all that matters, or should matter. I know I am sounding very naiive here because that's just not what happens in the polictics of skating, but it should be as black and white as that and I will dislike the sport for that until they start acting like adults
@sammywright07 definitely agree. it's stupid to not supporting one of their best skaters, but what can we do about it?:-/ it sucks. we can only support johnny by ourselves and that's what i'm doing and that is important for him.
@sammywright07 seems like the us federation doesn't like johnny weir being johnny weir. lucky for them that they have the great hetero hope evan lysacek. "cough"
seems a bit immature to me. they have no way to act that way so why should they? this is the sort of thing i dislike about skating. and i like evan lysacek, but he just doesn't have the same personality that johnny does
i wonder what it will be like for him to compete against Evgeni Plushenko in Vancoover, i wish them both luck, the ideal result would be Plushenko gold and Weir silver
