Somova and Shklyarov are so cute in this! They do look alike, don't they? Somova doesn't seem tall to me - it's deceptive because of her extremely long arms and legs. Actually, I think this pair look good together!
Somova and Shklyarov look so much like siblings, with their oval-shaped faces. Anyways, as for height, at around 5:34-5:39 mark, you see them standing side by side pretty evenly. Looks to be about 3 inches of difference, that would make her about 5'6" and him about 5'9". 5'6" is not tall on the street but for a ballerina it's considered tall. That's why I think people get confused when they see her on stage 'cause they're expecting supermodel tall not dancer tall.
With all the talk about Somova being a giant, it is interesting to see the interview, near the end, to see her next to Shklyarov, who is not tall, and is many inches taller than the supposed giant ballerina.
I've read about dancers height many things and I don't know what to think. For some people 5'5'' is not much for a dancer, for some it's normal, for some it's tall. For me Alina is tall dancer no matter if she's 5'3'' or 5'9'' because she's quite tall for her partners.
And even if Shklyarov isn't tall it doesn't mean that Alina isn't because tall man and tall woman isn't the same.
