Everest-gis 2.0 will blow this out of the water...it is way better and can do way more...go check it out

You'll need to add a geographic information asset (shapefile, geodatabase) to the table to contents within ArcMap first before the edit toolbar is activated. You'll need to have permission to modify the GIS layer as well.

I haven't worked with ArcMap in a while, and when I add the editor toolbar, I cannot hit start editing. How do I activate the toolbar so I can turn it on?
