Beat this guy on Part 3 Chapter 7 with only three units needed to KO this armored tank. Gave Mia (Lvl 11 Trueblade: Max strength, defense and luck, almost max skill and speed) a forged Steel Sword (max attack and upgraded Hit and Crit) and equipped her with Nihil to be safe. Support with Soren was A. Also used Soren and Llyana. Mia vs Black Knight:

@bitrel07 Black Knight could have landed another since Soren's speed was only at 23. Black Knight missed Ike when accuracy was at 57%, Ikes luck was at 18 and A support with Mist. Mia just got crazy lucky to get two critical-hits for 54 pts of damage with a forged steel sword while dodging the Black Knight's attacks with her own 35 pt Luck Ratio (with Soren's A Support included). Llyana is always one of my favorites with Resolve equipped, yet still she survives the Black Knight, again...
@Hemlocke3 Hell yea. In PoR he was great in terms of the storyline. A great villain. My favourite by far. And then Radiant Dawn came and fucked up his legacy.

@Bikriki It's a pssibility but Micaiah is part heron, she doesn't like war... on the contrary Zelgius is a war general he has awesome powning ability and has no hesitation in killing innocents. He killed a poor little hawk (Lotz) in Path of Radiance for no reason. : ( Just because poor little Lotz was keeping Leanne company. : ( If he is her father, that makes two branded's father Ike has killed. @timodeusdragon No matter how much you train her, she's crap. She comes in at way too low a level. She fails at doing what a General is meant to - wall and deal damage. She can double, but doubling 3 just gives you 6.

@MarioLinkGenofan What makes it worse in Radiant Dawn is that it's Eclipse and that the Black Knight has higher speed and is faster. His skill is also very high so you will face getting critical-hit by him in which you might survive or being slammed by Eclipse. Eclipse unlike Luna completely removes the enemy's luck and defense and slams the opponent with the current damage x 5. The damage goes from 100-300 depending on the opponent's defense and health. Nihil can't prevent crit. attacks.
like you said, it removes the enemy's defense, taking into consideration that the black knight only uses alondite, his attack is like, 56 if I'm right (it's been a while, I might only be a little off), so his grand total damage (since eclipse negates defense, the entire attack amount x5 is used) and ergo, does around 280 damage (since it is 56 attack power) and not even ashera could take a hit like that without dropping to 0.
@marthedge Taking that you'll either need to have Nihil equipped and have your speed and defense high enough because Parity only works when you attack, not when your opponent attacks. Not to mention that only while Ike wields Rangell that the critical-hit ratio for the Black Knight is dropped to nearly 0. Without Nihil equipped even if your units atk, def, luck and speed are maxed out, the Black Knight can beat anyone with just a critical or Eclipse.
@marthedge Oh no, I was describing the damage for Eclipse. The critical damage is from 27-180, but Eclipse deals damage from 120-who knows what. You're right so don't worry about that.
@Kazumakiri The only way to survive an Eclipse other than the Black Knight's one-hit critical ko without Nihil or Parity is if the Black Knight doesn't have Nihil equipped (which is never unless you hack, which no one does) and you have Miracle equipped (only works on the critical not the Eclipse. Avoiding Eclipse only results in a very painful critical-hit that will most likely kill you if you're hp, defense and luck aren't high enough and your support/bond isn't high enough either.
@Kazumakiri Impossible to survive Eclipse without Nihil or Parity, oh yes very much impossible. Impossible to survive the Black Knight's critical-hit, no that's a lie since Ike as a Vanguard with max. defense and a few other units at their highest tier with max stats can withstand Zelgious's critical-hit.
@Hisworld1234 The Black Knight by all means is the strongest unit by far, if you're exluding speed and luck and only applying skill, attack and defense power. Eclipse is an autokill unlike the other skills.
To be honest, I don't like this theme as much as the PoR version; this theme is more for a "support the character" rather than "be pissed at the character," which is what you're originally supposed to do with the Black Knight as Ike; get pissed at him lol
Not that this is bad, but more that the PoR version was more..."ideal" to use.
Zelgius had more backstory revealed to him, so in a way, it was fitting to have it sound supporting, not to mention Ike wasn't actually pissed when he fought him on the way to Ashera, but he was glad to fight him once more.

I still feel that the original theme had a better mood to it; but that's because I think this one sounds more hollow, while the other one has more concrete sounds. Although, I think that was because of the different instruments they used in this one than the other one. I don't know. XD
On a side note, though; when you speed this up, it actually sort of sounds like a pirate theme. (I should know, I did it once lol) O.o

Well, that's a waste of valuable exp. Wonder if you could use him as a human shield, to take the spear attacks and then have the guy break his weapon in the fina chapter of 1-E (of course, healing when necessary)
I did that on my last two playthroughs. It works, although it takes a while, since he doesn't usually have a too good a chance of hitting (hit = 30~70, when biorhythm is taken into account)
You can use a tankish character besides the Black Knight to break Jarod's spear. I usually use Jill so she can counterattack with a Hand Axe and gain more experience simultaneously.
black knight had somesort of additute change in RD, i mean, in POR he was an asshole all the time. i mean he was always taunting ike about his dad dead and how bad ikes fighting technique was.
in RD he was pretty much likebable fellow, he was cool guy. he was in por cool too, but also dick. RD he was more or less helping ike...i quess

in PoR, he was supossed to be Ashnard's dog, so being an egotistical ****** would be in character for someone like that, also he had believed he had surpassed his master. The duel between him and Ike where he found out that his victory vs Griel was a hollow one knocked his ego down a few pegs.
In RD he's working for Micaiah so he changed his act acordingly to assure her survival by becoming her 3rd bodyguard.
Well in PoR the Black Knight was an antagonist. You were supposed to hate him. In RD he's more of a supporting character and certainly not an antagonist. They tried to make him less evil and more just a soldier.

@Xxxfire45xxX He's still an antagonist, though. He's the lapdog of the very one who orchestrated everything between PoR and RD, and Ike still had yet to fulfill his revenge when he learned the Black Knight still lived.
Same way he would jump down a ledge in RD 1-E. I tried it, just to see what it would look like. I'll admit, it looks kinda awkward and a bit funny, but it's possible.
My friend thinks there's no difference between this song and the one from the prequal. Tell me he's wrong. The prequal sounds like it's from a video game. This one sounds like it's from a high budget movie.
Between POR and RD, "Against the Black Knight" was rescored for a system with better sound capabilities, which is why it sounds much more realistic.
Sadly, IMHO I think it lost something in the transition. Although "Unstoppable Destiny" is more refined, it lacks a portion of the raw power I felt in "Against the Black Knight".
Still, I have to say, this is probably the most epic piece of music in waltz time (3/4) that will ever be written.

The BK could probably jump, but his armor weighs him down so much, even his double jump would only get him as high as, say, Mario's single jump. He would be pretty reliant on his Up-B to recover.
Maybe his forward smash could be his POR non-lethal crit (from when he and ranulf fought).
His standard-B could be a POR Luna.
I agree though that his final smash would HAVE to be Eclipse. Sadly though, if he were actually put in an SSB game, he would be completely nerfed so that other characters have a chance against him, which means Eclipse would no longer guarantee instant death upon activation.
Yes, but there is still a very small chance that you might survive if hit, whereas Eclipse, by definition, should make any character that was hit to lose all their lives instantly (or just disappear in a time/coin game), and would subsequently inspire said characters' players to go into the kitchen and make sandwiches.

@marthedge Oh no, I was describing the damage for Eclipse. The critical damage is from 27-180, but Eclipse deals damage from 120-who knows what. You're right so don't worry about that.

@Kazumakiri The only way to survive an Eclipse other than the Black Knight's one-hit critical ko without Nihil or Parity is if the Black Knight doesn't have Nihil equipped (which is never unless you hack, which no one does) and you have Miracle equipped (only works on the critical not the Eclipse. Avoiding Eclipse only results in a very painful critical-hit that will most likely kill you if you're hp, defense and luck aren't high enough and your support/bond isn't high enough either.

Impossible to survive the Black Knight's critical-hit, no that's a lie since Ike as a Vanguard with max. defense and a few other units at their highest tier with max stats can withstand Zelgious's critical-hit.

@Hisworld1234 The Black Knight by all means is the strongest unit by far, if you're exluding speed and luck and only applying skill, attack and defense power. Eclipse is an autokill unlike the other skills.

To be honest, I don't like this theme as much as the PoR version; this theme is more for a "support the character" rather than "be pissed at the character," which is what you're originally supposed to do with the Black Knight as Ike; get pissed at him lol
Not that this is bad, but more that the PoR version was more..."ideal" to use.

Zelgius had more backstory revealed to him, so in a way, it was fitting to have it sound supporting, not to mention Ike wasn't actually pissed when he fought him on the way to Ashera, but he was glad to fight him once more.

Yeah, I suppose you're right, now that you mention it.
I still feel that the original theme had a better mood to it; but that's because I think this one sounds more hollow, while the other one has more concrete sounds. Although, I think that was because of the different instruments they used in this one than the other one. I don't know. XD
On a side note, though; when you speed this up, it actually sort of sounds like a pirate theme. (I should know, I did it once lol) O.o

When I played I would place the black knight so he had as many fight scenes in one turn as possible.

Well, that's a waste of valuable exp. Wonder if you could use him as a human shield, to take the spear attacks and then have the guy break his weapon in the fina chapter of 1-E (of course, healing when necessary)

I did that on my last two playthroughs. It works, although it takes a while, since he doesn't usually have a too good a chance of hitting (hit = 30~70, when biorhythm is taken into account)

You can use a tankish character besides the Black Knight to break Jarod's spear. I usually use Jill so she can counterattack with a Hand Axe and gain more experience simultaneously.
Also, the Black Knight is teh shiet. =D

black knight had somesort of additute change in RD, i mean, in POR he was an asshole all the time. i mean he was always taunting ike about his dad dead and how bad ikes fighting technique was.
in RD he was pretty much likebable fellow, he was cool guy. he was in por cool too, but also dick. RD he was more or less helping ike...i quess

somewhat respective of who was his supposed master at the time.
in PoR, he was supossed to be Ashnard's dog, so being an egotistical ****** would be in character for someone like that, also he had believed he had surpassed his master. The duel between him and Ike where he found out that his victory vs Griel was a hollow one knocked his ego down a few pegs.
In RD he's working for Micaiah so he changed his act acordingly to assure her survival by becoming her 3rd bodyguard.

I think it's cuz he earned respect for Ike in PoR at the castle. So in RD he was naturally a bit more on 'equal' terms instead of, 'Hahaha you suck."

Well in PoR the Black Knight was an antagonist. You were supposed to hate him. In RD he's more of a supporting character and certainly not an antagonist. They tried to make him less evil and more just a soldier.
IDK, after playing PoR I can't look at him any other way than seeing a villian.

Between POR and RD, "Against the Black Knight" was rescored for a system with better sound capabilities, which is why it sounds much more realistic.
Sadly, IMHO I think it lost something in the transition. Although "Unstoppable Destiny" is more refined, it lacks a portion of the raw power I felt in "Against the Black Knight".
Still, I have to say, this is probably the most epic piece of music in waltz time (3/4) that will ever be written.

The BK could probably jump, but his armor weighs him down so much, even his double jump would only get him as high as, say, Mario's single jump. He would be pretty reliant on his Up-B to recover.

His Up-B would probably be similar to Zelda's with the warping.
His final smash could totally be Eclipse...
but it would look WAY too much like Tri-Force Slash.
He could always take a defensive SS, which prevents him from flinching from most attacks.
The black knight could probably last an attack, and be the heaviest.
Anyone imagine if he could be like Sheik? That we could choose before hand whether to use Zelgius (more mobility) or Black Knight (big tank).
Anyone have any ideas? Hmm?????

His forward-B could be a ranged alondite attack.
Maybe his forward smash could be his POR non-lethal crit (from when he and ranulf fought).
His standard-B could be a POR Luna.
I agree though that his final smash would HAVE to be Eclipse. Sadly though, if he were actually put in an SSB game, he would be completely nerfed so that other characters have a chance against him, which means Eclipse would no longer guarantee instant death upon activation.

Yes, but there is still a very small chance that you might survive if hit, whereas Eclipse, by definition, should make any character that was hit to lose all their lives instantly (or just disappear in a time/coin game), and would subsequently inspire said characters' players to go into the kitchen and make sandwiches.

well, I guess techincally Triple Finish and Trifoece Slash have more then one hit
and on large stages and heavy characters and low damage Light Arrow won't kill

No, Light Arrow is a 1-hit kill. Triforce Slash doesn't kill on low percentages and same with Triple Finish.

It nearly always is, but big characters with low damage can survive it

Just because you use Zelda as a main doesn't mean you know everything 100% about her.
It kills Bowser in one hit even at 0%. And he's the heaviest guy in the game.

It depends on your position. DI can save some characters from being OHKO'd by light arrow at 0%, even if it is on the edge.
But that's considering someone is slow enough to get caught in the first place, or is oblivious to the one using it.
