Outstanding job! Love the multiple vorticies and also the fact that no human voices yelling "OMG, a tornado..a tornado". One of the better videos I've seen in a while. Again, good job!!
That's impressive - I've not seen this view of it until now! We live in Eagle's Landing where the tornado formed - feel free to check out my video as well. Five stars!
this is a GREAT example of why you should take cover instead of waiting until you can see it. at 1:31 you can make out the broad circulation tearing through the trees, then nothing. at 2:06 you can see an intense suction vortex on the left side of the screen, and then at 2:20 another intense vortex comes from right to left. this tornado never fully condensed, but the potential for damage was there. if any of the vortices had hit the car, it would have flipped. TAKE COVER!
kewl...right place ...right time..hard to capture good tornado footage in the stl metro area...i've been trying for 10 years..just gotta be at the spot when it happenz
Watch this video again, but look at the ground rather than the sky. You will see material begin to swirl upward in the air, then the tornado touch down and raise what looks like steam and see some small suction vortex skittle along the ground. The sound of the tornado hitting the building is typical as is the sense of menace. Part of this story is tornado sirens not sounding in several of the hit areas or at least not being heard, an eternal St. Louis problem alas.
To me it sounds like the tornado hit the building. Vibrations, the debris clanking, then you hear the outside noise which means the exterior of the building was ripped open. Very impressive footage. Never seen this film before. :) Peace from Macomb County Michigan USA.

I would say it's a tornado. I took a lot of guts to film this. I would have been gone when I saw the first vortex.

If I were in that camera guys spot, I'd still be filming, but crapping a brick at the same time.
