I think it's about the same - I think HBO is maybe $30/month. The good thing about TV Japan is that I can cancel in October and then re-sign up for November, since I only really will watch during SUMO months.

Hello Jason...i was waiting for your sumo video thanks it is good to see you...i was thinking you got new tv lol...but it wasnt...you back to san diego..i try to get Cox but it is not in service san francisco...than i was ask comcast if i add NHK on my service they said 25.99 month just one channel it is crazy for me lol....it's better watch your ad...lol my favorite sumo wrestler Harumofuji he is nice guy also we're born same city same age same school...anyway thanks

yeah - I think you can get TV Japan on the DISH network as well, but that costs money too of course. $25/month is fine by me - totally worth it to see sumo! :D

Hi Jason! Don't know if you're interested in statistics, but I'll tell you anyway :-) Asashoryu finished 10:5 in his first basho as Yokozuna (in March 2003), and once again in May 2007. Only once did he finish with an even worst tournament record as Yokozuna: 9:6 in Sept. 2004. (Kaio won that basho ^_^)

interesting - I didn't think he ever had a tourney with less than 10 wins, but that Sept 2004 bashou was the first one I ever watched when I first moved to Japan.
