It's only 2:09 long but Gary Newbon still manages to be SO unengaging that I had difficulty in staying awake until the end. How can such a boring, poor storyteller have ever got a job in TV?
Clough was an ignoramous. He may have been one of the top football managers the games ever saw but he was not a big enough man to conduct himself accordingly. Never was dignified and embarrassed himself more than not. Couldn't hold a candle to Shankly,Busby, Ramsay, Revie, Paisley, Stein, Robson or the other greats.
Clough was a football genius who took a 2nd division club to 2 European Cups, along the way beating the then best team in Europe, Liverpool. Shankly, Busby & Stein won the Euopean Cup once - with far greater resources than Clough ever had. Robson was a nice guy. As for Revie he took football to depths never seen before with his Leeds side of the 60s & 70s. He then sold out England for UAE gold. Revie was a disgrace to football. Cloughie was the brightest star in the sky and we miss him.

Pat. I didn't want short draggers drawn. I loved watching Forrest in the Clough era, winning European Cups, the lot. I said that. I had an opinion of Clough as a bighead who never conducted himself graciously and I still think that. A reply to my posting won't change my opinion. @PatTheForestRed Clough had quite a lot of resources I think you'll find, certainly more than Stein ever had at Celtic.
No taking away from the fact that he was brilliant, though.
