If you want Werewolves in the traditional sense... then this is the movie (or wolfman, though I am yet to see it). If you want "Shape Shifters" watch the wolves in Twilight... who are NOT werewolves in the pure sense of the term.

If you want gothic, powerful, aristocratic Vampires Watch this (Or Interview with a Vampire, or Queen of the Damned)... if you want an angsty, slightly emo teenager trapped in an immortal disco outfit watch Twilight.

What you need to realise about the Wolves in Twilight... is that they are "Wolves" not werewolves... they are NOT meant to be half human-wolf combos... but more like the transformation in Animorphs... with the added speed, strength etc.

The Wolves in twilight are products of their mythological/spiritual beliefs, over any virus, disease etc. Their transformation turns them into wolves... not hybrids.

I've seen alot of people complain that Kate Beckinsale(however you spell it) isn't in it.

Personally I don't think she's much of an actor, and it wouldn't make sense to have her in anyways since she was bitten after the rebellion already started.

After watching the first one, you've just got to realise that these films are all designed for a bit of fun, and not to be taken to seriously to the point where you slag them off. Just enjoy the over the top action of it all. I watched AVP R with absolutely no expectations of it being good, and I enjoyed it because of it. It's a not a good film, but it was fun to watch.

This is where it all began with lycans.more or less its like that: Slave falls in love with vampire princes, her father desides to kill her for betrayal and then her lover out of that rage becomes a monster (lycan) to avenge for his love. You have to understand something, those were two different kinds of movies with different effects and feels, Van Helsing was intended to have CGI visualizations with actors standing in while Underworld was more live actions with NO special affects, and thats why I love the movie because it has more of a realistic view to it, this is going to be an excllent movie, that only other trilogy that matches this is the Matrix, ALL HAIL THE DEATH DEALERS!!!
