@smartarse001 I smell jealousy! : ) In my band we use Moog Synths, Moogerfooger pedals and a bunch of other hardware effects. These apps just allow you to add more functionality and sounds to existing hardware at an insanely cheap price. Moronic is being so narrow minded that you just hate on things purely because you have some kind of sad grudge against the iPad. It doesn't need to be an iPad. Any touch screen tablet is excellent for this kind of stuff. Why limit your creativity with a grudge?
@smartarse001 If by "make annoying sounds" you mean make noise music, ;-) then this is actually much better than Rebirth, there are many more parameters.
(For melodic electronica, there are many choices also, such as Aurora and NanoStudio.)
This is not crap, it's far better built than the PC touchscreen that I bought 2 years ago, which broke down in 6 months. There is no better touchscreen device from any manufacturer. $500 for the base model is not expensive.
@smartarse001 ummm Rebirth is on iPad.... I have it on a windows laptop and now the iPad. SHOCK HORROR!! Yes, people can own both!!! I also have Moog hardware among other goodies. I choose not to limit myself with arrogance and stupid grudges against the iPad.
Cool! I saw another video where this was being used with Looptastic HD on the iPad. It was pretty easy to figure out both these apps. I'm fascinated that I can add my own loops to Looptastic. Nice to get some whack metal guitars, vocals and other stuff in the mix!
What an amazing piece of software. Too bad that there is no way to synchronize it to/with anything externally. Perhaps someone can invent the first iPad MIDI interface. There are I/O ports on that thing. Then Korg could add the implementation.
@genxtargetmarket You already can.. get the OSC device.. OSC easily translates into MIDI. Its how devices like the Lemur work and digital consoles like the Digidesign C24 work... so .. yeah.. you can already...
(I have seen some other excelent MIDI / OSC remote controls available. Apple pulled off a Tour De Force allowing the iPad to run most iPhone apps at 2x screen res. ... See my soon uploaded video with JR Hextotone for an example! )
@VJFranzK and @genxtargetmarket -- I don't have an iPad yet (getting the 3G) so I'm not sure if the OSC app translates yet. I also doubt that Electribe can utilize it directly but there may be some routing capabilities with the OSC app (similar to apple's midipipe) - now, if the iElectribe doesn't include it, you could always let the makers know and they might implement it in an update. Either way, there are many other cool apps that CAN transmit OSC (and then MIDI) to your hardware!
Verrry good demo! Great job.

@genxtargetmarket you can just use the usb camera kit and use a usb to midi cable to your external keyboard or controller
unclscrcr 11 months ago
@unclscrcr TRUE - They have upgraded the app to use the USB "Camera Kit" adaptor for MIDI Connections

@smartarse001 You chose the right name! ;-) This is the #1 music program on iTunes for a reason, and I think you underestimate it.

@VJFranzK its a childish toy for moronic people who need to justify buying expensive crap from Apple.
But good luck with that.

@VJFranzK also, go get a copy of Propellerheads Rebirth (which is free) for a laptop if you want to make annoying sounds.
Buy thats not for an iPad, so I guess its just not good enough for you hipsters!
Throws up in a bucket.

@genxtargetmarket AHA! But there IS, or will be soon.
I've read of a Line6 made MIDI port for iPad coming soon!
Also, AKAI and other companies are pioneering stardards for WIRELESS MIDI synch over Bluetooth!
I bet some of these technologies will be supported by an update to iElectribe, wait and see. ;-)
