  • I like your Bakelite mags.

  • @WisconsinEric Thanks! So do I. They're actually getting hard to import into the US now. So what's here is all we can get.

  • @UrbanTiger74 And they sure are not cheap! I will probally end up with a bunch of the $10 plastic Polish mags, as I can not afford to spend $40+ per mag for the bakelites. Unless you have a cheap source for the Bakelites that you would like to share.

  • @WisconsinEric No they're not. LOL! Yeah I want another 4 Polish mags. Prolly will get some soon. No my source for affordable bakelites is the one guy who sells bakelites to most of the US sellers. He's in the Ukraine and Ukrainian customs is stopping him from importing. UN resolution crap. Glad I got my 4 bakelites.

  • @WisconsinEric NM. Centerfire is out of stock of the Polish mags. Boooooooooooooooooo. LOL!!!

  • Precision shooting with an AK-47! lol

  • @padraicohare I'm trying. LOL!!! I get 2-3 MOA with milsurp 53gr 5.45x39 at 100 yards.

  • @grzegorz1811 Zjeb jestes koles. A z kad wiesz strzelales?

  • @Polskaurban W stanach mozna legalnie posiadac karabiny. Moga strzelac tylko Semi-auto. Niewiem czemu ale bardzo tanie som polskie ak i rpd. Jak poszukasz to za 300 kupisz.

  • how far out is the target? how accurate is this rifle at longer ranges?

  • how far out is the target?

  • gibson's outpost. i hate that range.

  • @daltexmex You know what, I ONLY hate it when his son is running that place. I'm totally cool with the old man there and he let's me perform non standard operation procedures there when I'm the only one shooting, but his offspring just hates life and people. LOL!!! Unfortunately it's the best range in the DFW that has the longest rifle range(200 yards) and they allow all types of ammo to be shot there MINUS tracer/incendiary.

  • @UrbanTiger74 i still hate it. i am a range officer at Elm Fork and I try to treat people the opposite of the way i was treated when i use to go there years ago. I could not handle it no more and gave Franks wife my card and said I would not need it anymore. And I never have. and for what I really like to shoot I shoot at mickeys. down by the river. Now that is fun. scroll through some of my vids see that.

  • wow that stock is short, i do however want get one imported from a german online surplus store!

  • @oOPANT3RAOo It is, but you get used to it. I prefer the combloc length stocks versus NATO length. If you think about it, when you're geared up when the SHTF, you'll have shoulder straps, body armor and/or thicker clothing when it's cold so the extra material between your shoulder and the buttstock acts as a buttstock extension. Warsaw pact countries thought of this a long time ago since it's really cold over there.

  • how much did it cost?

  • @davidmarino96 This was $599 at the time of purchase. From Atlantic Firearms.

  • @UrbanTiger74 they right something about some 1mag ... what does its mean? Its just a airsoft weapon or its a real one? My english is low to understand the homepage correctly

  • @PolskaUrban This is a real rifle. I do not make videos with airsoft guns.

  • @UrbanTiger74 Hey bro, is it a Century arms build Or Interarms build.

  • @oPaRaLyZeRx Interarms.

  • @UrbanTiger74 Atlantic Firearms robi kobie Polskiego Tantala identycznom jak Lucznik. Chyba $ 599 jak jak sie nie myle :)

  • Why does your charging handle hang? Mine does that too/ Any idea why? its annoying as hell

  • Just the upward pressure of the hammer pushing up against the bolt carrier. Nothing serious. Just a typical characteristic with some Kalashnikovs.

  • you need some rpk74 mags bud!

  • Got one! LOL!!!

  • Is atlantic firearms a reputable sight? I mean really it seems like it is just some nerds trying to rip people off.

  • I never had any probs with them. I also have a contact over in that part of the US and he says they're a great retailer.

  • I bought a bulgy ak74 from them recently, and I got to say that I was very pleased with it. Now its not like collector type guns, but if you are looking for decent parts kits with some us parts included, they will serve you well. from experience, blk-74f great firing great shooting gun.

  • does that have a bolt hold open ?

  • Negative. Some AK bolts hold open due to the upward pressure of the hammer when the bolt carrier is aboove it, so you get like a poor man's bolt hold open feature.

  • Oh Gibson's shooting range.. !!!

  • Best range in the DFW area. Hands down.

  • How good are the Atlantic Firearms AK's? Quality wise.

  • Their AKs aren't actually built by them, they just sell AKs from manufacturers such as Lancaster Consulting, Elk River Tool & Dye(Armory USA), Interarms, etc etc, and those are all excellent manufacturers. As you read my Tantal is from Interarms and it's a champ.

  • Ah, I see.

How much does ammo go for for the AK's?

    I appreciate the help.

  • For 7.62x39, you can get 1000 rounds for $260 shipped. For 5.45x39, anywhere from $160-$200 for 1080 rounds.

  • Wow. You wouldn't by any chance have any links, would you?

  • Out of curiosity...your cheek/eye seems really close to the receiver on this rifle. Is that due to you having a longer pull length and the folding stock being too short? I have a small pull so it has never effected me. I actually prefer the European style shorter stocks etc because they fit me better than the "American" sized stocks.

  • Yeah. I have a long pull, and the Tantal's wire stock is short that's why since then I've swapped out the buttstock. It's still combloc length but a fixed stock offers a larger surface area of the butt and a more consistent cheekweld. Let me know if you want pics of it now. Just PM me your email. Thanks for posting.

  • i would like pics

  • Craig, just PM me your email and I'll have them to you by tonight. Anything specific you wanna see or just an overall view of my Tantal now?

  • can i get pics of the tantal, ill send you my pics of my Yugo M70ab2. thanks

  • Just pm me your email.

  • NICE rifle man...I want one sooo bad. I had a chance to grab an Interarms Tantal a month or so ago for only $600... wish now I had bought it. I have an Egyptian Maadi AKM one of the older ones....love AK's.

  • I know how you feel. You can still get a Bulgarian 74. I actually like mine more than my Tantal these days. It's the workhorse of my 74 collection.

  • haha...I will admit that I'm a bit biased because of cosmetics. All the Bulgarians I have seen, including Arsenal's just didn't look good. The machining swirls, sloppy welds, etc... I like my guns like my women, good looking, versatile, and easy to hold. I hate to admit that I'm biased by aesthetics...haha

  • Totally understand that. My wife calls my Tantal the "sports car" of my Kalashnikov collection. LOL!. Minimal to zero machine marks. Even metal finish throughout. Just overall sleek and sexy.

  • Hey are parts for the ak47 interchangeable with ak74 parts... i am talking about furniture and stocks want to get rid of wire stock

  • Sure are. Just take a look at my vid on swapping out buttstocks for the Tantal.

  • Hey where can i find a quality website that i can get a stock and accessories for this polish tantal?

  • I'll PM you with a coulpe sites.

  • BAYAD ASS

  • Thanks! I like to think so as well.

  • Does the bolt carrier lock back so stiffon them all?

  • After shooting the last round, no the bolt does not lock back. But if I manually charge the bolt back and slowly take my hand off the bolt, yes it does. This is due to the hammer pushing up onto the bolt/bolt carrier causing it to lock into place. Since the movement of the bolt/bolt carrier is violent during shooting, this AK characteristic isn't prevelent.

  • hi tiger, um my muzzle break has no wobble . do u know how many companies besides century that make the tantal? lemme know plz

  • Interarms for sure. That's where I got mine via Atlantic Firearms and possibly Elk River Tool and Dye which was Armory USA.

  • does it have a selector switch to fire semi, full auto? i was thinking of buying it but i still have a few other rifles i want to look at first

  • Only safe and semi auto only:)

  • haha thanks!

  • hhahaa, o tym samym pomyślałem :- PPPP

  • OK. The washer has a part of it's edge that is flat, not rounded. Make sure that flat edge is under the detent pin so it allows the detent pin to fully seat into the recess of the muzzle brake. Try that.

  • sigh...didnt work, what about like blue loc-tite?

  • Take a breather. It's not a big prob:) Avoid the blue loc-tite. If you're using surplus ammo(corrosive), you'll want to be able to remove the brake so you can clean it properly. My advice is, take the washer to a hardware store and match it up with a washer similar in size but SLIGHTLY thicker. You already know what I'm getting at;) That should solve the wobble. Best part about this, you got your Tantal!

  • just recieved mine from atlantic arms....functions perfectly! but one small issue, the muzzle break has some wobble to it, didnt seem to affect accuracy that i could see, just annoying as hell. do you have this problem with yours??? or is this just normal....

  • Does it have that washer at the base? That washer is what makes for a snug fit.

  • it does and thats what seems to stop it from re-engaging with the detent pin, it goes about 3/4 of a full turn then the washer stops movement so its vertical again

  • BTW. My muzzle brake is snug. No wobble whatsoever.

  • more mives dude! i get mine on thursday and the wait has been driving me crazy

  • I'm tryin. Weather in Dallas has been crappy. I also have a fierarm course this Saturday. I'm also tryin to sell old belongings to get more money to fund my firearms. Overall busy and tired from work. Hang in there folks. More vids in the future.

  • you doing that course with the tantal? and is that century? i got mine from atlantic

  • Actually I took the Tantal to a previous course and it performed well.

No way is it a Century. Atlantic buddy.

    LOL!

  • The course this Saturday is a Defensive Pistol class.

May 2nd I will have a Two Man Tactics course. I'll be taking my SAR2 and M&P9 for that course.

  • what accuracy did you achieve benchresting it?

  • Actually this was the very first time I took it out and it was really a function and reliability run. It's also the first time I've fired the 5.45x39 cartridge. Basically familiarizing myself with this platform.

Months later I took it to an AKM Operator course and truly zeroed the Tantal there and from 50 yards I was getting anywhere from 1-2MOAs. I also found out that Wolf 70gr 5.45 is not the preferred bullet weight for the Tantal.

  • The Tantal shoots better with the lighter 5.45 bullets. 52-60gr.

Other things fall into play. Unfortunately my shooting eye isn't as good as my non-shooting eye. I'm not making excuses, just telling you what I'm experiencing and I'm sure it can shoot better. As we know, it's usually the shooter that performs poorly, and not the weapon.

Thanks for asking. I'll prolly have better results in the near future.

  • i hate the way this douche looks looks like an asshole who thinks hes way cooler because he has a gun , i have alot of guns an dont go around wearing a muscle shirt with no mucles lolz

  • Calm down trooper. I guess you didn't take into consideration how hot and humid it gets in Texas. Did you? But of course you'll respond that you did know how hot and humid it was that specific day. Right? Riiiiiiiiiight.

BTW. Did I in anyway mention that I was cooler than ANYBODY in this vid? I think you might have me mistaken for some other vid on youtube that somehow indirectly attacked your insecurity of your own masculinity. Hang in there. Life isn't always gonna give you what you like;)

  • no shit what is your problem dude. Are you jealous or smthn.

  • I just picked up one of these, and am having a hard time with the iron sights, I wan looking at the front sight, is that adjustable?

  • What kind of probs are you having with the iron sights?

Front sight is adjustable. Same set up as your usual AK front sight.

  • thanks

  • I drool over rifle at Atlantic Firearms website all the time. Could you tell me how you actually buy and transfer a gun from them?

  • i think gunbroker has a list of places by you that will have a transfer fee but some are cheaper than other check out the site.

  • are there any aks that com standard w a bolt catch cause gun ranges by me dont let me use a gun whose bolt wont remain open after finishing a mag

  • Unfortunately not. But there are a couple things that you can do to help in this situation. First option, get the S.W.I.F.T. selector lever and then modify or purchase AK mags that hold the bolt open after the last round.

  • The Yugoslavian M70B or whatever it is is an AK with a 3 hole handguard (instead of the typical 2) that has a bolt hold open feature. The bolt locks about halfway back if there are no bullets left in the magazine. Search on youtube for it, there is a video demonstration of the bolt catch.

  • To wyglądało jak by kolo sie nie mógł do tego zabrać :P

  • Wish I would have gotten one b4 the price exploded. :(

  • They're actually not that bad. They only went up like $60. For some reason, the Tantal doesn't have such a following like the SAR2 or Bulgarian AK-74. So get one and join the Tantal Club today! :)

  • I did not know that , I just figured they had spiked like the ar-15s lol!!! I will have to check gunbroker tonight :D

  • atlantic firearms ;)

  • Will the Tantal feed from non-polish magazines? Any issues running Bulgarian or Russian mags?

  • Zero issues my friend. I have ran the original Polish metal mag, Bulgarian polymer and bakelites. The Bulgies fit the best. Nice and tight and ZERO wobble.

  • Callofdoodoo: If you use ammmo zinc plated casing,(it looks like stainless steel) it will jam your Tantal. Also make sure you oil your bolt carrier guide rail, the sides of the reciever where the carrier rides, and the recess in the carrier itself where the bolt rotates. hope this helps.

  • Nice to know. I was about to buy a case of that Silver Bear 5.45x39. Glad I didn't.

  • i never seen your comment i will try that thanks but its doing better now but ill be sure to do all of that everytime i mess with it right know i have bulg 53 gr and wolf 70 gr

  • If you like Tantal you should try wz. 96 Beryl

  • Most definitely. Unfortunately I haven't seen any for sale here in the states. Unless I haven't been looking in the right places. But isn't the Beryl in 5.56/.223?

  • yup it is 5,56 x 45 mm

  • that buttstock must be uncomfortable especially for bigger guys

  • If you ask me, it's tolerable, but for long periods of time and for larger people, it would be uncomfortable.

Since this vid, I've swapped out the stock to a fixed one and it's a HELLUVA lot nicer to shoulder.

  • Hey nice rifle and vid, I've been debating if I want my next purchase to be a tantal or another ak(slr107, How do you like your tantal? hows accuracy?

  • I could never pay what Arsenal asks for one of their AKs. I got my Tantal from Interarms and that thing is squared away. I also look for variety in my firearms, that's why I got two AKs in each caliber.

As for accuracy, the Wolf 70gr 5.45x39 was made for the Romy 74s, the 60gr and lighter was made for the Tantal and Bulgy 74s. But any weight of bullet will suffice in either firearm. The farthest I'm zeroed for is 100 yards on my AKs by the way. Haven't tried anything further....yet;)

  • i think there is a problem with my tatul i put one round in the gun and shot it and the shell didnt eject then i put a full clip in and just kept pulling the bolt back and it jammed once or twice do you think feild stripping would help please reply it would be alot of help thanks

  • my bad tantal

  • You can think about replacing front lower handguard with handguard from wz.90 - wz.90 was a Tantal modified for 5,56x45 Nato cartidge, but the hanguard fits perfectly. and what's most important - it is black:)

  • I got another handguard set awhile ago and they were already painted black from the previous owner. All I did was repaint it with a black textured paint and then spray polyurethane to seal it. I have a Tantal disassembly vid on here. You'll see what it looks like now.

  • Good work. But next time it will be cheaper to buy a new one instead of painting old :)

wz 90 black handguard costs about 20 USD, and those "wooden look" - lighter and darker for 10 USD.

  • Funny you ask. I got my Tantal from Atlantic Firearms. I've heard only good things from them, that's why I got my Tantal from them. If you're going to purchase from them, have no worries.

  • Do you know where they sell gas blocks for Polish Tantals?

  • its semi auto and auto .. -.- my uncle has one

  • no point in having an AK, if it isnt fully automatic...

  • Then tell Kalashnikov that there's was no point in putting the semi-auto option when he designed it. And don't forget to tell Eugene Stoner, along with our SOCOM operators that the M-16 family doesn't need semi-auto too;)

  • Besides I'm not interested in paying the BATF fees for just having paperwork allowing me to have a FA firearm. I also don't like to waste ammo. If I really had the hankering to shoot FA firearms, I would've joined the service, but that's no reason to join in the first place.

  • It's funny to think, when I recently attended an all day AKM Operator course, all we used was semi-auto. I went up against 3 other AKs and a tricked out M4. I used my AMD-65, and came in first place. I had a shorter barrel and an uncomfortable wire stock, but still managed to come home with the trophy and certification.

  • good points, but i just love the fully automatic option, even though semi-auto is a hell of a lot more accurate ...it's still a nice gun though.

  • Exactly. Better accuracy. Don't get me wrong, if there were less red tape to own a FA firearm, I'd have at least one by now. Unfortunately for me, cost of ammo is soaring and amazingly the closest place to go full auto would be on land owned by the BLM. And that's 3 hours away.

  • Comfy recoil and this ammo is half the price of .223

  • does it have a bolt hold open?

  • Not on the last shot. But if manually operated, the bolt can lock back thus leaving the chamber open when a cease fire is called on the range. This is due to the bolt and hammer pressing against each other when the bolt is charged back.

  • I'm just sending in a $100 deposit to Atlantic Firearms so when they get the gun, then I give them a full amount and they send me it. How was your experience with Atlantic Firearms? Did everything go smoothly? The only difference is I am getting a fixed stock, I like it better, but its the same polish AK-74

  • I had no problems with them. Smooth. Yes. The fixed stock version is nice too. I got both furniture kits for my Tantal. So I can go full stock/all black furniture and wire stock brown bakelite furniture when I'm in the mood;)

I'm sure you'll be happy with your Tantal. I'm very happy with mine.

  • you know what's kind of weird is I've never seen an AK74 with a milled reciever. I think the milled recievers are superior in everyway to the stamped ones. The reciever can last litterly for 100 years.

  • I haven't seen a milled receiver on an AK-74 either. If there is one, it's prolly on an RPK74. But I doubt it. One of the reasons why the AK-74 was built was to lighten the load on a soldier, so putting a milled reciever was prolly out of the question.

  • that stock dosen't look very comfortable

  • Actually looks can be deceiving. It's not as bad as many people believe it to be.

Don't get me wrong. A full stock is always nicer, but one can shoot comfortable with the wire stock.

I took my AMD-65 to an AK-47 Operator Course with it's original wire stock. Which are probably one of the poorest wire stock designs, and came in first place regardless.

  • sure, izmash has lots of skills in producing small arms. they supply russia for more than 100 Years with guns sins tsars ruled russia.

  • i would add that izmash kalashnikov corp. produces the best ak rifles in the world. look at their brand new automatic rifles, smgs, SVD Dragunov rifles man they are gorgeous !!!

  • Well...nothing like the original;)

  • I bet you get a lot of scratches on your sunglasses...

  • Actually that time I did not. For some reason the Tantal doesn't touch my eye protection. Migh tbe better ergonomics.

But recently, my Romanian AIM did scratch up my shades. LOL. Luckily with my shades you can switch out lenses. I just gotta find some amber lens replacements.

  • I just bought one of these and I want to put a fixed stock on it. What would I have to do?

  • Hmmmmm...looks like I'll do a stock replacement vid tonight and post it tonight or tomorrow. Stay tuned boss.

  • Great!

  • Are polish AK-74s good quality?

  • Yes. They are built very well. I would say the best 74s are Russian, Bulgarian and Polish. When I got my Tantal, it was beautiful. Clean, like new if not new.

  • I love the Polish Tantal kits. Hate that sidefolder stock, though. I bought an Ace Tubular sidefolder for my Tantal. great stock. Much more comfortable.

  • where can i get those mags at?

  • Gunbroker is where I did most of my shopping. You can check K-Var's website as well. The bakelite mags fit slightly loose. But the Bulgarian ones fit nice and tight. I just got four brown Bulgy mags last week. Nice mags.

  • At last someone say's something good bout our weapons industry ^_^

  • I love the Polish AK rifles. If I was given the opportunity to get a Beryl and Onyks. I would put myself deeper in credit card debt. LOL!

  • Dude,I was talking bout Bulgarian weapons! But the Polish ones are good 2.

  • OH! LOL! My bad. Either way. I'll take a Bulgarian AK-74 and Krinkov too. LOL!

  • I use breakfree on the bore and it works okay. No problems. I buy bunches of it and keep it in my webgear. Hot water and soap is overrated; a holdover from the civil war, but, yes it works. CLP,or breakfree will deactivate the corrosive priming compounds. For what it's worth, that milspec stuff is the most accurate out of mine. Check it out if you able. Peace

  • Where do I get some CLP? I heard it has to smell sweet for it to be any good. Is this correct?

I'm sure a local store will have Breakfree. Just not sure where to get CLP.

  • I just ordered 4000 rds from AIM to make sure I don't run out for the my (SLR105 A1) Bulgie; Need to check out the Tantal, or finish my second build.

  • Nice. I know I should get some of that Bulgy surplus ammo. I know they shoot the best too. But with the way things are going who knows if we'll have hot soapy water or WD-40 at our convenience, if you know what I mean;)

Maybe I should at least get one spam can for last resort.

  • Urban, is that the Lancaster or Interarms build? I thought you had an Interarms Tantal on another video. Good shooting!

  • Interarms chief.

  • Yes. I would love to get a Beryl or Onyks but I'm not hip on the 5.56. That ammo is just too expensive versus the 5.45 at the moment. I love combloc ammo.

  • And yes. The muzzle brake on the Tantal IS grenade launcher capable. Just need the grenades, LOL! Which is unlikely.

  • wz.89 Onyks was also in 5,45 cal. We've had some of those in my unit - very compact, light and reliable gun. I believe only a few hundrets were produced, Polish Army never officially accepted this gun, so it may be a problem to get one of those.

One way or the other - Onyks was a great gun, and what's unusual, was like Tantal grenade launcher capable.

  • Too bad the Onyks was never imported. I would've adopted it. LOL!!!

  • You have to try some other brilliant polish handguns - especially PM-63 RAK. Taking one of those to the range is something you'll definitely won't forget:)

Have you ever heard about MAG 95/98?

  • damn man im from poland and im impressed to see that poland has such kick ass guns and military. im also glad that they've allied themselves with U.S. , not a bad country to have watchin your back in you know what i mean. any chance for a gernade launcher ? lol

  • thats the new cezh ak isnt it?

  • Actually it's Polish. They are original Polish Tantal parts on a US made receiver by Armory USA. The best AK-74 variant that a civilian can get. If you're a owner of a Class 3 license you can get the burst/full auto model.

  • Hey Urban I thought you only needed a tax stamp and register it with the state police, I had asked the owner up at A&P arms and thats what he told me and I also spoke iwth a friend about it.

Also how much did the tantal run, I love it.

What do you think about a Wasr-2 for my friend who is just starting out with AR's.

    Best regards.

    Mayhem.

  • I'm in Texas and there's no gun registration here. Just a NICS check. Civilians can own SBRs(Short Barreled Rifles) but have to pay BATF a tax stamp. Same goes for silencers. Civilians can't own fully automatic firearms, unless you have a Class III license, a LEO, military, or a manufacturer.

The Tantal ran me $617 w/ shipping. So around $630 with my FFL fee. I like it more than my Romy AK.

    I'd get a SAR-2 before a WASR-2 if you're in the market for a 5.45x39.

  • Thanks bro you've been a major help for me, I am looking at the 5.45x39 caliber just because I don't have a weapons of the such however can you let me know where you got you tantal and maybe some specifics, not to be to much trouble just curios becaus I am looking at getting one very soon as with a friend of mine. How easy is it to change the tantal' stock to a solid of flip unders tock ??

  • Your welcome. Glad I can help. I bought my Tantal from Atlantic Firearms. But you can check Gunbroker for it as well. I've seen plenty on there. I'll send you a private message with more specifics about the Tantal.

  • Thanks bro !

  • Actually anyone can own full auto in Texas. You must pay a $200 tax fee before you buy the gun (the cheapest full autos are Macs....they still run around 5K....so it's not cheap). That Tantal in F/A would run you around 15K.

  • Well...at that rate, I'll stick to my semi-autos then. LMAO!!!

  • Are you pretty happy with Atlantic Firearms? I am seriously considering doing business with them.

  • Yes. No probs with them. They have a great selection and their prices are pretty competative.

  • are you kidding me? m16's cost 216$, Kalasnikovs are dirt cheap, theres no way an ak74 would cost 500+, but it all depends on what (they charge, they cost around 30-40$ to manufacture probaly

  • when was the last time you went to a gun store?

  • I say get one while you can. People buy up the parts kits to build there own. That tells you something. You won't be disappointed. The two stage muzzle brake and the low recoil of bullet makes this a great weapon to shoot. J&G Sales has them on sale right now for $529. Brand new from Interarms:)

  • Sweet rifle, I've been wanting to pick up an Tantal for a while... I'm not sure why I keep putting it off.
