  • you're from Wichita, Kansas? sir I've been watching your vids and love your work. I am currently in school for AE Eng at WSU.

  • i want to see this thing flying man were is the vid ?

  • Makes me wish I knew how to work with fiberglass.

  • you can get this at tubemusicdownload com - it's free. your welcome.

  • you're WAY too big to fail, man..LOL

  • Just a quick question on your wing-sweep mechanism.

Have you considered any 'camber' in the set-up. From what I'm learning regarding an F-111, the wing-tips actually lift up a tad as they sweep backwards. About 1.5 degrees. This helps to counter the dynamic of the nose wanting to pitch down as it goes from a 'fixed wing' aircraft position into a Delta.

Saves the pilots on the real-deal from having to adjust trim, and I'd guess it applies to a model too.

    Just a thought...

    Q:)

  • 1/4 inch Aluminum should do good. I'm building an experimental aircraft and we use that and smaller stuff.

  • I have a idea, why don't you name the plane?

  • Thanks for the education. It's well worth a c note to me for the course in fiberglassing and mold making. I'll check out the RC Universe info.

I can't tell you how important it is to have help. It's a motivator in itself whe there's plenty of help to keep any project going.

Keep up the great work and I hope my donation helps.

  • I agree with you there DeckDresser - I've tossed in a few bob too.

Reading about stuff is one thing, but seeing it done is worth a thousand words.

And with a bit of the dry Southern humour thrown in for free :)

    Gotta love their work...

  • I love your vids

  • file for some of that green job money obama's been raving about. put it on the paperwork you want to build large scale edf target drones. that's green. then divert the money to the b1 project. granted, that's a little shady way of spending. but it's no different then everyone else.

  • I'd use a Carbon Fibre sandwich with 10mm Corecell in the middle for that centre section. It will be less then 1/4 the weight and even stiffer. Also it's super easy to bag.

Hope you get the funding and I'll be waiting to see you soon.

  • I think that the quarter inch alu sounds way to small for that g-load. especially when mounted in that direction, it will put huge strain on that part.

If it was up to me i would buy a quarter inch alu honeycomb piece in the same dimensions and then wrap some carbonfiber around it.

    Better, stronger and lighter.

  • FANTASTIC STUFF!!

  • Keep up the good work. Amazing stuff

  • I am a KC man too if you can help me I can see if i can help you with funing

  • I'm sure you guys still got money to continue building the plane. I mean how do you buy food, water, shelter, etc. I'm sure you guys could continue if you wanted to. Also, whens this thing going to fly?? I'm building a 1/5 scale p51d mustang from top-flite and I'm sure I'll have it ready in a few months....I think.

  • look forward to it

  • 1 sorry for the spelling but on the bearings you can try a tracker suply they well have boxs of like haywagin bearings there for slow speed high lade that well come in the size you want and about the only place that well late you walk in and handel the parts

  • nice

  • You're doing what I've dreamed of doing. The B-1 has always been my favorite plane. It's just the most beautiful thing.

Whenever you get this thing ready, I want to know when and where you fly it for the first time. I'll come out and give you a hand... or at least be your cheering section.

Keep it up. You've done an incredible job so far.

  • Finally, I get the first post. Hey Bob, things are coming together nicely. I see you're definitely keeping Dad busy. This is going to be the best RC I've seen built yet. Of course, I am partial to Lance Campbell's SR-71 Blackbird because I worked on those birds back in the 1980s. Keep up the good work.
