  • Blacksab fan, look i aint gay but i could kiss you cause you are Special, ha, Thanks

  • Interesting version.

  • This is a rare treat. Thanks for sharing this one. Superb stuff. Miss them both dearly.

  • Painfully adorable, a true masterpiece...

  • This is obscenely soulful -- and the guitar work is beyond exquisite.

  • i need the lyric... please anyone help me

  • LOVING the falsetto at 1:42

  • Is this the original demo?

  • Im sorry, i did upload one version of this with better sound quality, found from a studio session 1974/3/10 Gary Moree

  • If I had a band I would cover this song...

  • May i know which lyrics this alternative version has?

I've tried to look for on internet but i didn't find it

I'm not a native english speaker and i can't understand all this song says

    Thanks

  • this is the bbc version and is a combination of two original songs "help you see it through" by gary and "still in love with you" by phil. after moore left lizzy to continue his solo career lynott re-wrote the lyrics and did not credit moore for his contribution as co-writer of the song although he is credited as having provided the guitar solo "nightlife". this was purely because brian robertson refused to re-record the part, arguing that it was perfect as it stood. hope this helps

  • one of the best creative duo's ever! R.I.P.

  • I just checked it against the first Peel Sessions and it sounds different.

  • Awesome!

  • super song!!!! cannot find lyrics for these song nowhere!!!!

  • EXCELLENT! Thankyou :o) RIP Gary Moore - now jammin' in heaven with Phil Lynott. Two of the brightest stars in the sky and sadly missed X

  • Thank You for sharing !!!

  • Doesn't sound like Moore's playing !!!!

  • @caribman747 Apparently he was 16 when him and Phil played this demo. He's come a long way since then. A long, LONG way lol.

  • @caribman747 This is a demo they made and very reminiscent of the recorded solo's he did on the '74 Lizzy album 'Nightlife'. The song had changed a bit by the time they recorded it a little later, and it even had Frankie Miller on 2nd vocal + different lyrics. Gary's guitar work on the Nightlife album version are truly inspired, both Lead and Chord wise. My fave work of his of all time. We've lost a great one, RIP - guitanorak

  • Like many, I re-discovered Lizzy after Jailbreak, not having kept up with them following Whisky in the Jar. (Well I was only 12 then) Taped a repeat of this show about 1978, lent the tape out, never saw it again. Very pleased to see this one. Saw them on the Bad Rep, Black Rose and Chinatown tours. Quality.

Many thanks for this and all that other fine Lizzy stuff you're finding to post.

  • Like and love

  • btw miss ya lynnot and gary u pwn

  • the most beautyful song in the world for real

  • this is the one. 1974's finest

  • does anyone know if there is a tab for this version?

  • Gary Moore should do this version in concert

  • Gary sings wonderfully here! Love the Peel Sessions :)

  • It's frankie miller

  • No. It's definitely Gary Moore. This is the Peel Sessions version.

Frankie Miller sings on the version that appears on "Night Life".

  • Love this version, read in a book that Moore actually help with this song but never got the credit. My favouite of all time

  • What a gem, pure class! I love it, thanks for sharing it.

  • wow philo was a genius 2 set of awesome lyrics!! lovin moores high vocals gives it a funky groove!! thanks blacksabfan!! :D

  • Hmm why mess with a masterpice it was perfect the way it was.. RIP Phil....I love ya Terra

  • I think BlackSabfan IS Lynott. How else could he have all this stuff!?

  • Hardly. My modest collection doesn't rival a few others I know of. In fact, just yesterday, someone from Ireland who apparently doesn't like me decided to goad me saying he had a couple rare tracks and that I'd never get to hear them. Sucks to be me I guess, although if I'm not going to hear them, that means 99.5% of Lizzy supporters won't hear them either. It boggles my mind why certain people insist on keeping material away from fans; part of my enjoyment is allowing others to enjoy it.

  • That guy sounds like an ass.

  • blacksabfan you are theeeeeee man!

  • @blacksabfan

Black Sabbath and Thin Lizzy fan??? Aren't you James Hetfield then?

  • @salihadjic

It would make sense, but based on some of my comments about Hetfield/Metallica on other posts (most notably the live version of 'Whiskey' from 1980) it becomes quite apparent that I'm not.

  • @blacksabfan

Being a huge Metallica fan, i won't bother checking those(comments) out

  • @blacksabfan Well fuck him,and thank you.

  • Blacksabfan, you really are the man!! What a collection of Lynott stuff you have. My hat's off to you. Thanks for the postings.

  • I think Gary's ability is still there. Check his Red House cover for proof. He's got a bit heavier in recent times, but he can still do pretty much anything any other guitarist can do, only better. He's an ugly bastard though.

  • Hi widerthanone. Just a quick question (and no offence meant), but are you homosexual? I can think of no reason why Gary Moore's looks would be an issue. If yoy are, fair enough. I guess it would matter.

  • Hello Curlaz63. I'm wholsomely hetrosexual and of the opinion that one's arse is designed to be a one way street. There's still no doubting Gary Moore is an ugly bastard though. Relevant or not, surely you have to agree.

  • Beauty is but skin deep...!

  • Yea, but Gary Moore's an ugly bastard, isn't he?

  • I don't think he's that bad really, although Ozzy Osborne once said in Kerrang! that Gary had a face ''Like a welder's bench"

  • Gary hasn't aged well...I'll say that. Still plays well though, and that's all that counts.

  • As I said, I don't think he's that bad myself, he's got a lived in face but his guitar playing is fantastic.

  • dla mie to fanyastik szkoda ze tak puzno znalazłen tom strone Gebels

  • fantastik

  • You sure you are hetro, as there ia only 1 reason i admire gary makes no difference what he looks like 1 of the best guitarist ever to grace this world, never came in to my head, but i am hetrosexual, you sure you are. Prick

  • Looks to me that you're trying to convince yourself you're hetro. Maybe you're not so sure. Either way, you're a fuckin' spastic, so fuck away off!!

  • I Don't know which one I like more, this is awesome and so is the other one.

I've never heard this one before, thanks for posting.

  • i dont know wich version i like more...

  • Same. I like 'em both for different reasons. I tend to feel more for this one tho, being young enough to never had the chance to see 'em live, and this version being pretty common in scandinavia/first one I heard.

Either way, it's some awsome piece of music.

  • If the date is right, it's recorded on his 22nd birthday!

    Wikipedia:

"Gary Moore (born Robert William Gary Moore, 4 April 1952, Belfast, Northern Ireland)"

  • Does anyone know if this number is to get on a record?

  • Great wersion.I need songs like this.

    Thanks for add this track.Peace

  • this song is so fuckin great

  • Really good, any diff version of this excellent song is very welcome, cheers

  • Man you need to release a long lost Thin Lizzy CD collection :P.

  • This solo is tremendous, hard to believe he was only 22

  • who was 22 ? phil?

  • Gary Moore was 21/22 (depending on his b-day). He was born in 1952.

  • I like these lyrics alot gary's voice lacks but his guitar playing is the smoothist is the land on this song!

  • this is from a BBC session....

    and it is Gary singing

  • Good grief, man, you have GOT to be the reigning scholar of Lizzyanalia, and a nobler calling is difficult for me to imagine. Thanks so much!

BTW, Gary's lead break here is BETTER than the very fine one from the "Night Life" album, in my opinion.

  • Very cool.

    Thank you for posting.

  • what can i say?! ..... thank you again! 5 stars from me... good quality 2...

  • Without any doubt: GARY MOORE

It is his voice! I have never heard this version. Thanks for this. BTW: the first words Gary sings here are at 0.30 "you haven´t got a penny". It seems his guitar-play is also included on this song.

The chance for the listener to separate the voices is quite easy: Not only does their vocal timbre differ immense... but also their distance to the microphone or their sound/mix is not exactly the same. Thanks again for posting! Cool version... but very strange :-)
