Putting on commercial music to this assumes that the listener needs to be entertained because they are too shallow to listen to someone speaking without getting bored or need to have it's profundity rammed home by using the more artisitc end of commercial music (i.e. Bjork).

The visuals are superfluous as well, but at least they aren't competing to be heard.

whats wrong with these people complaining about the music? just put some headphones/earphones on, they don't even have to be very good. Out of every one of these Alan Watts videos, I've been able to clearly hear every single word he said. These are really great videos and the music just adds to the wonderful experience.

I was introduced to Alan Watts about six months ago by a friend. His words mean more to me than any lecture or sermon I've heard. I find myself repeating these videos and the few audio clips I have over and over again, not getting bored, but increasingly intrigued and affected.
