Science is evolving all th time. For example there is a 'gay gene'. If you have XXYY chromosomes you are likely to be more aggressive. This is simply giving up to much information that you simply can not trust a state with no matter how legal or democratically elected. Imagine iflife insurance cmpanies had this information. I accept criminals hve in some way foreited the right to still hold on to this info,but innocent people have not. either all or none but the guilty.

It would help insurance companies greatly to have this information.

It would also help the NHS as they could identify genetic diseases in your dna. So really, I'd quite like to catch criminals and identify genetic diseases.

also the government already know what race and who you are related to...

Comments like yours show a huge overvaluation of privacy, really, security is a little more important than protecring information which the government already have.

Commentary like this shows a scary blind trust of the state. If innocent people's DNA can be put on this database this is tantamount to putting the shackles around the necks of all people in this country in some form of slavery. ie: you're no longer free. For example it is known bcos of the DNA who you are related to, whether or not you are likely to get a certain disease, your age, your specific ethnic background etc. For example the state will know before you do who you're real father is.

AND? it also means if you're murdered they'll know who did it.

It's not really slavery to have people know who you are... what's actually the worst a government can do? oooh they'll know who your family is, that's AWFUL!

Personally i'd rather know that if i'm murdered or raped then the culprit will be caught than have my race private.
