  • i can do 0-100 in my protege in 10 seconds, fucking punch it next time and tell you're dad to stop being a pussy.

  • if you listen to the rpm's the trans shifted into 2nd from the tires spinning fast . that engine is awsome, what we really saw was a 2nd gear pull not bad for street tires . I want the car AND the girl, both are HOT.

  • AMERICA FUCK YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

  • Damn, that thing hauls ass!

  • this girl is awesome

  • Well that transmission needs adjustment, or it might just be worn out by now...the rpm jumped in the 2 to 3 shift.

  • Beautiful car, my father owns a 1971 Ford Torino Gt. It's going to be mine in a few months. Can't wait!

  • @Ronnie4091 If its your first car PLEASE be careful as its a survior of many, many years the power you will feel is awsome . you will enjoy it !!!!

  • Wow. Best girlfriend ever!

  • Sorry for being an ass. How about another video to clear the air? Just putting 429 heads on a 460 doesn't make a 460CJ. The CJ had 4 bolt mains and other differences. Nothin to do you with you being a girl. The fact that you scared your bf is commendable. We want to see more videos.

  • @SOHCman The Ford 429/460 engines use the same block. The only difference between the two is the stroke (crankshaft). All parts on the 429 and 460 are interchangeable except for the Boss 429 which is in a league of it's own. So,you could take a 429 cobrajet block with 4-bolt mains and put a 460 crankshaft in it and essentially have a 460 Cobra Jet. Check out Ford 385 series engines, These babies were designed for all out performance! :)

  • @lander4545 The crank will drop in just fine. The rods are also the same but the pistons are differant between the 429 and 460. So the swap requires the use of 460 height pistons.

  • @MrDavidboggs Factory piston bore size is the same at 4.36" for both the 429 and the 460. There were two deck height availible from Ford and they were 10.300" and 10.310" and either one will accomodate a 429 or a 460 crank. So as I said earlier the only difference between the terms 429 and 460 is the crank. :)

  • @lander4545 The bore size is the same but the compression height on the piston is differant. It has to be or the pistons would come up out of the bore on that swap. Trust me i've been building these beutiful monsters for 27 years.

  • Also for you others wondering it is indeed a 460 in the video with 429CJ heads on it.

  • Hey I know this car and the driver! haha. This car now has a 500+ Ci stroker in it,it rips!

  • no, no, no jesus christ, i'm a pussy dammit woman slow down!

  • These cars are about 8 feet wide, so the impression of speed is different than in a ricer.

  • Engine sounded like it was bogged, and it didn;t seem like you were going too fast but videos can make my dad's old 550 horse 1967 cougar at 156MPh look like it was only goin 90.

  • 460 in 1970 would of been the THUNDERJET.... duh!

  • 428cj would piss all over that 429. 428's were stroked version of the 427. Although I have drove a 429 torino with a automatic, there wasn't much off the line but after about 60 it really opened up and went. Beautiful car.

  • A 429 is a de-stroked 460. Every 70/71 429 Torino has '460' cast right into the block. The 385 series engine was designed specifically to become the 460 & was de-stroked to create a 429. They don't make diddly squat for piston selection for a 429 so if you rebuild & want to knock that compression down the best way is to drop in a 460 crank which is right at home & start choosing. There is many a 429CJ Torino out there that is an 'unspoked 460CJ' - but referred to as it's former true self.

  • FIrst off, yeah it's an automatic. Could do much better with a stickshift. Secondly. That's no 466cj. My 351W could smoke that in idle. Thirdly. The 460 was not available in the torinos until 1973 when federal bumper impact regulations forced them to lengthen the car, only then could a 460 actually fit. However, still a nice car regardless.

If anyone knows where I can snag a 429 for under 2500, hit me up. Don't have the money at the moment, so private sellers are kinda outta the Q. Thanks.

  • NOT a Cobra Jet. Period. A 460? That would require stroke and bore modifications(if it were a true 1970 Torino 429CJ) which would put you near 500ftlb/400hp depending on cam, fuel and piston mods which could bring the numbers near or over 1000. Clearly this "Cobra" is more likely a 302 or 351. If it was a stock Cobra Jet, you both would need to clean the stains in your undies. The only "460" CJ known is a modified Stroker 466CJ / top loader 4 speed with 2.73 bootlegger ford 9" I know I own it.

  • 1970 didnt have a 460 that wasnt until later.

  • yeah do another run diff cam angle, my dad has a 71 with a 351 cobrajet and its fast as shit that 460 should flyy

  • 10 secs to 100 sounds very optimistic

  • Fast cars and fast women=Epic Win!

  • You scared your boyfriend..

  • sounds like an automatic.

  • it sounds slow

  • I owed a 1970 Torino and that did seem kinda sluggish to me.

    I'm assuming you are driving a 1973 Gran Torino with a 460 and not a 1970.

The hood and the side mirror were clues.

If I stuffed the pedal on my 70, it wouldn'[t catch traction until it hit 2nd gear.

    Still sounds really good.

And I like you getting back on the throttle!

Gotta clean the carbon off those plugs after doing the parade somehow!

  • you do know that you can put different engines in different cars right

  • Of course. If she doesn't know what year of car she is driving what makes you think she knows what engine it is?

  • well you can tell its a 70 torino from the hood

  • No, the 1970 hood is flat. The 1972 has the bulge.

This is a 72 with the 460 smog motor.

  • watch my videos you are clueless they had that hood its the gt hood

  • @SOHCman don't be an asshole. just because im a girl, doesn't mean that i don't know what im talkjing about. this car is a 1970. did you know that you can put different parts on cars? like, different year hoods and mirrors and motors? (like caminoguy 69 said) because you can. and he did. hmmmk. thanks.

  • could be a 70 71 too they had those mirrors and a hood that looks like that too looks like the inside of mine just with different mirrors

  • hahahaha "is that a cop".... "no". "ok" VVVVVVRRRROROOOOOOOOOOM

    love that shit

  • well, i have a 71 torino 429 cobra jet, and it has a 460 in it. not stock, but does have it

  • Very good! All components between the 429 and the 460 are interchangable. The 429 cobra jet heads will fit on a 460 setup.

  • not to be a dick, but the 460 cubic inch motor was only available in the 1973 model. all 70's had the 351 cleveland motor or 429 (thunderjet or cobra jet) i guess he could have swapped them somehow, but i've never heard of it yet. again, not criticizing but my grandpa has one(blast to drive) so i kind of have an interest for the correct info for them. and i don't pretend to know everything bout them ( i'm a bartender, not a mechainc) so if someone can correct me, go for it. sweet car though.

  • Could be the original 429 engine with a 460 crank. The only difference between the two is the stroke (crank).

  • you are pretty damn rigth thast the only difference

  • my dad owned a torino... he said its squeall the tires at 60 mph! idk if thats just his warstories but id like to believe him lol

  • Believe him...

    500+ ft lbs of torque.

Broke the back end loose at 65 once.

Scared the sh!t out of the person I was passing... Open element air cleaner and 3" pipes helped too. miss that car...

  • "is that a cop?" no.. "OK!" floors it haha

  • Actually my brother owned one of those in 89 with alot of stuff done to it, I have all the fords that have been in our family.

Now I drive a 6 second mustang you need to ride in ;)

  • Nice! will you marry me. I love big block 460 torque, and yeah the guy was a pussy, lol

  • was she wearing shoes?

  • Old Ford's don't die. They just go FASTER!!!!!

  • lol... didnt sound like u REALLY got on it.. but not bad..sound a little "Boggy" but still sounded as good as a ford :D

  • ha.. yeah, i didn't let it go all the way, there was a lot of cops in town [and my dad had heard us like 2 miles away] sooo i didn't really give her hell... i'll have to make a new one! my dad actually did a lot more work on the engine and i guess she REALLY goes now!

  • yea she should have put it rate to the floor!!! it didnt look fast

  • Nice!

  • that guy was freakin out lol

  • yeah dude ur goin like 70 MAYBE

  • acutally we were going over 100. apparently you've never been in a car like this. :]

  • besides, do you REALLY think someone would say "HOLY F!" to be going 70mph?? my focus sedan does 70 in that time. :p

  • if it had been a view threw the side window u could tell

  • Throw the side window where? Oh, did you mean T-H-R-O-U-G-H? BTW, really nice car.
