Granada and Leon have been fierce political rivals. The Spanish founded Granada to mimic the southern Andalusian Spanish city of Granada and Leon to mimic the Gothic Leones Spanish City of Leon. Granada has been conservative (if I'm not mistaken) and Leon has been a liberal city. The capital of Nicaragua was transferred back and forth until they decided to create a new capital called Managua.
I'm from Nicaragua , I live in Managua to be exactly ! Granada is such a beatiful place ...I haven´t see those kids dancing so that means that I have to visit there more often , and for the next time don´t eat anything being served in those little fast food cars...it will always get you sick!
Is your girlfirend polynesian? 'Cause mine is. She's still young (We're in our mid-twenties) and she has lots of white hairs already. I think it's in their blood.
Hi Pete just wanted to say I have so much respect for you! Your personality the way you get on with people so easily, everything! P.S Do you still have that leather cap in present day? :) -Chris
haha i love how you use the term gringo. youre an inspiration man i love this series. keep doing what youre doing. hopefully one day i can do something as cool as this.
@pdrop hey you deserve more views on you great vid series ask for people to click the like button, favorite and to comment it helps the videos get noticed
@veryberrykayla I know. I uploaded it and then youtube removed it once it started getting more and more views. It's a video about a cockfight in Nicaragua. You can watch it by visiting my website intransit.tv
@pdrop Did you protest its removal? I read the community guidline tips and your video seems fine to me. It's a little graphic, but in a documentary, informative way.
i think nicaragua is a great place because the food freaking good very cheap you can get a full plate of food for $1 and is a safer place the crime rate over there is very low aslo the people over there are nice and the thing about over there is that lots of people speak english
San Juan del Sur didn't float my boat either. Got right out of there and went to Isla Ometepe on Lake Nicaragua. Incredible place. Met some really interesting people and stayed in one of the nicest hostels. Strange place. Lots of horses.
@hymsa Suprisingly, that's as local as it got. The town is catered to tourists, and a lot of the restaurants in the main area were expensive. I've learned that local food in tourist areas is rare. Local food is normally prepared at home for their families, not for tourists. Granada is being taken over by ex pats and foreign investment, that's why it looks so pretty. Not much of a local scene.
@pdrop should of tried tele pizza 20 cordobas for the vegeterian slice and pretty good thats what i would do after a good sesh of yoga hahaha ... or vigoron thats sum yum stuff in the park or if your brave on the bus!! but i only bought it cause i treid the lady's pasteles and churros and they were so good i was like hmm hows her vigoron! and surprisingly it did NOT make me sick. but the last time i ate a hot dog in Nica dude... i got sick for like 3 days!! like cold shivers and all man!!
mann lol hope u felt better dude. By the way how did you avoid getting burned? did you just not use suntan lotion cause u dont get burned, or did you use it everyday??
In Granada, on Friday nights there is (or was) a party in the main plaza where the kids show off their dance skills and other entertainment groups perform. Granada's a lot of fun.
Pete my bro, great vid on Nicaragua! your vids finally pushed me over the edge and Ive decided to take my life long dream trip to India for 3 weeks in August. Ill be sure to post it on my channel. Thanks for the wake up call. Ive been traveling the world for 18years but I have been comfortably stuck in Japan for the last 5 years.I have been reawakened. Its time to get out there again and remember why we are alive. TRAVELING !!!!
