First of all its all by preference. I myself being english, like to be able to comprehend what im hearing. Therefor i would rather have a dub than a sub. BUT there are always cases where the dubs are just simply horrible. And anyway in the first place nothing really good that i watch has even been dubbed so it doesnt really matter.

You get used to subs so much that you forget that their there....and occasionally...watch and understand half of a raw video because your mind sorta understands what's happening....that was a weird expirience with Code Geass haha.

The most persuasive arguement is simply opinion backed up by fact....Naruto's dub makes up translation for a random and annoying catch phrase, Code Geass's dub basically removes everything mature about it which includes the sexual sub-plot that made the characters not ridiculously robotic...because sex/romance is the only human emotion for most of the characters. In TTGL...well...honestly..never watched the dub fully, but I will make an assumption of censorship in the speeches?

Bleach's dub is okay because they didin't sensor much, but it makes everything's title a lot more lame by using exact translations....."Soul Slayer"... Next up is, I'm ashamed to say, Yu-Gi-Oh, in which the only good episodes were never dubbed due to violence...enough said. Let's see, that brings us to FMA....um...dub makes ed a pussy....don't really know what else to say. There's also Al's voice which pisses me off.

Apparently you aren't familiar with the companies that actually redistribute the English dubs to the public. I've read some of your comments and the major thing your missing is the companies themselves, such as Funimation, Viz Entertainment, Tokyo pop, Pioneer... if they're still around o_O and finally the dreadful 4Kids entertainment (Which slaughters anime) Anyway lots of these companies produce English dubs very differently

Multiple companies also sub different animes to english and other languages, Dattebayo of course being the most well know, but there's ZOMG floating around too. There's a clear difference between their subs if you watched the same episode by both (Bleach is or was done by both at one point I believe), but the quality stayed the same. The same can be said in for the dubs....they're pretty much all the same garbage. As you said, the American public isn't something that's willing to take that.

Now now, sometimes dubs are better. By sometimes I mean almost never, but there rare moments such as cowboy bebop which the dub is better than the sub. Yu Yu hakusho I feel is about equally as good dubbed or subbed. True that most anime is much much better subbed, but the rare occurrence does occasionally happen.

YYH was a tough call, but I decided to go with the original simply for the fact that the language matched the fact that it is incedibly violent......and involves a guy who just lights houses on fire in the early episode using a soda can.....why would a soda can cause a fire I'm not sure (unless of course that was a beer can in the original....not sure....not something i'd notice...even then that'd have to be some kinda strong beer to not have the flame go out when the beer, which is barely....
