  • ΕΛΛΑΣ

  • @dipset12000 are you a fucking idiot or just an illiterate offensive cunt?

  • you guys are douches

  • Nice video

  • Ugh, they just got some idiot woman to read all this stuff. She doesn't know any of it. You can tell from her pausing and backtracking. Typical woman.

Also, Archimedes shouted "Eureka!" when he discovered how yo can measure the volume of oddly-shaped solids while in the bath, which is why he was naked. Also, the Antikythera mechanism is more like a mechanical calculator (like a slide rule, etc.) than a computer (programmable, etc.)

  • The greek had big tits the size of a planet.

  • Planet means wanderer.

  • I think the word Planet means wanderer.

  • Jessica, once again informative and HOT, I fall at your feet

  • Comment removed

  • Well I think the fact that Earth wasnt flat was known in Asia too...but still Greeks were prominent in Geometry while Asia was prominent in Algebra. Greeks did Algebra through Geometry while Asians did Geometry through Algebra...I am at all not undestimating Greek people at all...absolutely marvelous people..

  • Hey Greeks used their first computer to animate puppets too I think..

  • Jessica has always been my favorite on psychetruth. The nerdy looking glasses, pretty face and nice figure are all amazing. However, I think she is also quit charming with her voice and delivery. She's just so cute.

  • maybe egyptians and sumerians was older than greeks but the greek civilization invented so much imagine greek mathematicean eucledes measured the high of pyramide in egypt how ever what is Renaissance which started in italy and saved the humanity?????the resurgence of the ancient greek civilization

  • @ElassonaG13 Greeks were solving problems that required the same brain power as today...

  • damn a nerdy looking hot chick with great body and cute voice...

  • Jessica...jessica...you are HOT!

  • nice video!

  • Well done miss Jessica!!! Greetings form Greece.

  • lol its interesting in this kind of videos the most rated comments are 1. Your hot 2. something intelligent

  • I understand that the library of Alexandria might have been burned down several times. Usually a christian mob receives credit for this and for flaying Hypatia, yet 'fanatic monks' sounds revisionist. Fanatics to be sure. Monks?

  • Not the 1960s, everyone 'forgets' that the father of the electronic computer was Atanasoff (in the late 1930s). Reference: "Atanasoff, Forgotten Father of the Computer"--Clark R. Mollenhoff. I do not think anyone has named a street after him let alone a high school or university.

  • planet? erm.... the plan? ancient greek version, i dont know in fact. 9... thats a nice machine showing planets going around the sun. some planets wander backwards briefly in the sky because of differant speeds of our planet and the planet observed from either this side of the sun or the other side, like next spring. retrograde its called J

  • cute!

  • Hero invented some kickass stuff

  • Your hot!

  • Greeks thought that the world was not round!!!!! and they thought that the sun was moving around the earth and not opposite ;P

    p.s: i m greek :)

  • THANK YOU FOR YOUR WORK

  • Sweet Thang! Thank you for that Greconian information! You look real good in Hi-Def! How about going back a little farther in time to the Sumerians and Akadians and Egyptians, which one is the oldest civilization?

  • nice video but too many clothes

  • maby Greece being isolated a bit helped them think about things more clearly

  • guessing based on local WWII blockhouse near my city with huge computer using 5,000,000 million gallons of water per day to cool--1941; Copernicus (right! ha-ha); and planet means plan ahead, don't just bumble into things like the other 95% of us.

  • u have a nice ass

  • The world is not flat and neither are you dear Jessica-I enjoyed hearing all these interesting facts.

    R.Nix

  • Those legs are HOT!!!!!

  • i was surprised you didnt talk about Aristarchus and the discovery of Heliocentrism.

also, why only talk about 800 BC when written greek history goes back to even 9,600 BC...

  • @Seirios86 Sorry, I was trying to answer to the video. :s

By the way, the presumably oldest written Greek finds is Linear B (it has yet to be deciphered) from the Minoan empire in the peripheral coastal peninsulas in Greece and whole of Crete and the texts from the Hittite empire dated around 2000 BC.

However, the oldest forms of writing documented, was found in the Sumerian city-state of Uruk in Mesopotamian peninsula, loosely dated midst 3000 BC, about the same time as the Egyptians started.

  • Her brain is hot!

  • I like this video of her even better than the other. Again, nice to see her wear black pantyhose, a nice skirt and nice glasses. Keep this babe a cummin!

  • The Egyptians Did Calculate The Diameter Of The Earth Almost Exactly

  • everything is a lie the truth is written in blood

  • The great library of Alexandria was in Egypt, not Greece.

  • @bobbygoesbig ....Alexandria was a greek city...was founded by Alexander the Great in 331 BC, Alexandria....Alexander built another 31 citys with the same name.....that was the Alexandrea ad Aegyptum and Dinokratis was its architect.....

  • i gave you a thumbs up because you are hot.

  • jessica is cute and smart good job see you next time..

  • Jessica is super cute, but she need more practice being in front of the camera. Good luck Jessica, thanks for the info. :)

  • Go Greece!!

  • Thanks Jessica, I love your dress.

  • i would suggest that there were probably chinese and others who theorized a round earth much earlier than 560 bc. i think oftenly the originators of profound ideas in latin/european areas are assumed to be the first in the world. another example of this is "isaac newton's" basic laws of physics, einsteins theory of relativity, and gravity.

  • You are wrong about Greeks not proving that the earth was round. It was noted by the Roman architect Vitrivius, that Aristarchos (mathematician and astronomer - 310 BC ca. 230 BC) conducted an experiment where he measured the length cast by two column's shadows. The columns where in different cities and shadow length was measured at the same time. The purpose of this experiment was to calculate the PERIMETER of the EARTH. As we know, round objects like the earth have perimeters.

  • @vkgiotis I'm glad I'm not the only one that knows that most facts in this video are false.

  • Nearly everything Greece was came from Egypt. Just like before Youtube and TV there were books.

  • Yia and I bet you think that Cleopatra and Jesus were black. Now go back to smoking whatever it is you smoke to get high and dream up your fantasies.

  • Ancient Greece is the platform for Western civilization!

One mention ... "heuriskein" meant 'to find'; form the you get "heuristics" or the French 'heur' ... bonHeur, 'to find yourself well'.

So really the word should have always been "heureka" rather than 'eureka'

  • You're way off on some of those facts there princess. Just where do you do research at exactly? It was 350 B.C. not 340 when Aristotle wrote that book. To all the viewers: Do your own research and don't let the fact she's beautiful make you think that everything she says is right. Clear your minds and research, and study. Sorry, but I hate it when people get stuff wrong. I saw an ancient Egypt video of theirs and it was full of mistakes.

  • why does all ancient philosophy have to get burned. fuck

  • fanatic monks burned down the library of Alexandria? What about Ceasar burning his ships at the dock near where the library was?

  • I think a good motorboat is in order...

  • Planet = wanderer??????? p.s. Greece isnt as ancient as previously thought. Anatoly Fomenko's History:Fiction or Science explains it

  • jessica is very beautiful, and thanks for the facts about greece.

  • I'd like to know more 'bout computers in a future video...

Jessica is gorgeous, a real marriage material...

  • I enjoyed the facts with the small amount of blood left in my brain.

  • Offered... an education... more like.... COMPELLED... via... MANATORY EDUCATION LAWS. Now its just cover for state sponsored indoctrination and slavery

  • Sumerian records indicate they knew the Earth was round long before the Greeks. The even mapped out the planets in our solar system long before anyone else; realizing it was heliocentric and non-geocentric.

  • Great subject matter and beautiful woman...what could be better?!

  • Great Vid!...love ancient Greece..cool format and presentation...the few pauses and recalculations of thought by the presenter keep it real...Look forward to other ancient Greece videos

  • everything western,...i believe we owe it to the greeks

    -asian-

  • I think someone even calculated the size of the earth by measuring the shadows on sticks between 2 distant cities. Pythagoras made a lot of money with 3,4,5. But I think that patent has finally run out,

  • thanx, cool greek goddess :))

  • BTW, youtube should fix this MASSIVE bug, I deleted this instance of this comment (this one) because their Reply function seems to cause me to respond to the wrong person. It was not deleted, and when I then added a response to the correct person (khaloo66), that was marked as spam. Good job, idiot youtube programmers!

  • you forgot to mention that it is believed losing the library of alexandria set us back 1000 years

  • Notably, Eratosthenes accurately calculated the circumference of the earth in 240BC as 252,000 stadia. This result was used for hundreds of years and his experiment was replicated by other greek scientists.

Eratosthenes might also have calculated the distances to the moon and sun, but whether he really did is disputed.

  • look at thos tits

  • Not sure why, but the black pantyhose puts this above other hot fact videos.

  • @bacholerno2 prove it.

  • the mayans were the first knowing the world was round, not the greece.. we're europeans that's why we think we're best, but we're just arrogant fucks killing of others to expand our empire-... the vikings visited "vinland" (america) long before the spanish (columbus), they were catholic fundamentalists and believed that the earth was flat... vikings and others knew the globe was round thousands of years before them

  • wandering star

  • mmmmmmmm your hot

  • Planet = "Wanderer" Reminds me of "plane"

  • very interesting... I look foreward to hearing more about Greece! :)

  • Planet is the greek word for 'Wanderer.' I, e, the 'Stars That Wandered' through the night sky instead of following the 'Celestial' motion.

By the way, you forgot to mention that the very firsts scientific experiment in human history, conducted by the philosopher Eratosthenes proved that the Earth was round only a few centuries after Aristotle's conjecture.
