Oh, and I had always wondered about how you did 7:25-7:3:38, well, specifically how you'd positioned the clips, lol - I should have know it was as easy it was that easy! Thanks so much for this tutorial!

Okay, this is probably a pretty stupid question, but in 1:58-2:00, you pulled part of the mask over so it was a diagonal - how in the world did you do that?? 'Cause whenever I've tried dragging my mask to make more room like that, it deforms and becomes all rounded edges and stuff. :( BTW - I LOVE YOU!!! I didn't know about the Shift + B and had been rendering sections of my vids - ugh, that took sooo much time! - up until you showed me that, and now I happily use it all the time! ;)

Um I think you just click it once, make sure you don't double click on the point? But yeah and if all points are selected, just right click and say deselct > all, then you should be able to just click on points individually :)

And ikr - my non-editing boyfriend had actually taught me the shift b thing!!! Like, what?! :D

But yeah, it's all called "simple" editing effects for a reason - super easy xD

@MissDoonaQueen Haha - I got it! In experimenting with what you said, it turns out you hold ctrl and then click and pull the point, and then the line moves. Soo happy now! :D Anyways, thanks for that! :DD

Okay, you need to create several points (anchors?) on your masking timeline, one what it looks like at the beginning of the clip, and one what you want it to look like at the end of the clip :)

It's all about your key frames in the pan/crop section (not the masking section of that) and yeah. Search key frames in vegas help if you don't know what those are. Make like, several key-frame points along the line, and have each point have the shape in a different spot. I'm sorry - I'm horrid at explaining things!!!

Also, a really simple question, but how do I get a clip to zoom in and out?

For a zoom - go to the pan crop bit (a big square with an F in it) and make another keyframe at the end of the clip's timeline, on that clip, make the box smaller. then it should naturally zoom. If you want zoom out, do the opposite (so like, small box at the beginning, normal box at the end)

Umm let's try this way: do your first shape in your first keyframe (the one that's automagically there) then make another keyframe at the end of your clip's timeline and adjust the shape to how you want it to end :)

Yes you can animate it with any of the pro series and (I'm pretty sure with cookie cutter) you can even do it with the studio series etc

Have you made several track points in the masking timeline? They're the little diamonds along the track :) So each diamond should have it moved down, and vegas should make it flow naturally by itself :) Did that make sense?

I've actually found vegas pro 11 really annoying to use in terms of masking (pro 10 seemed to be easier) which is why I wouldn't want to make a masking tutorial at this point in time. Mind you - there are HEAPS of masking tutorials on youtube!

Keeping in mind for the MOVING ones, you need to put them in pretty much frame by frame and ahh it's so hard to explain!
