  • They don't make stories like this anymore... truly sad

  • Is that awesome scene where Luna smacked Todd with the pipe somewhere on here! I wished that LOSER would've died right then and there. Now we still have to see his perverted ass!

  • do you happen to have the scene were marty went to andrew the morning after the rape and he took her to the hospital.. if you do can you write me back and post it?

  • kevin raped marty too?

  • No, she just accused him of it at first because after they raped her and she passed out, Kevin came upstairs to get his keys from her and she was all confused.

  • The fact of the matter is that OLTL, in my own opinion has THE best courtroom scenes I have ever scene in daytime or primetime!!!

  • really??

i dont think so, i think there to colorful to possibly be taken serously. i like young & the restless courtroom scenes because they seem more realistic.

  • I AGREE! Y&R's court scenes are more realistic, but OLTL is #2 behind Y&R's court scenes. LOL

  • No, check out the clips "One Life to Live: DTR Karen takes the witness stand" and "One Life to Live: DTR Karen takes the witness stand part 2". Judith Light gives the single best courtroom performance in the history of daytime soap operas. People still talk about it to this day!

  • she was WAY over the top, lol.

  • @ Rosannasfriend: If you mean, Judith Light (as Karen Wolek), she won an Emmy for that performance, so someone clearly disagrees with you.

  • an award being given is not ultimate proof someone gave the best performance. Many crappy performances have won Emmys.

  • @ Rosannasfriend: Very true, it's all subjective. But I've been a fan of OLTL long enough to know that you're definitely in the minority on your opinion of Karen Wolek.

  • @ShutEmDownNow LOL. I know this was written 7 months ago, but minority shminority. The majority is not necessarily right ya know. Nor should that be used as an argument to persuade my opinion. Also, how do you know what everyone who watches the show thinks? All we really know is what the magazines and the Emmys have said over the years, and there's alot of politics and groupthink that go along with that.

  • @Rosannasfriend You're right. It was written 7 months ago. I barely remember this comment, and have moved on.

  • I am just blown away! She has to come back...That was the best storyline

  • Yeah i was in highschool at the time and remember the rape and the trial and the whole storyline. I remember wanting to kill Todd only Rogar Howard can be Todd sorry but when he left and this new guy came i stopped watching the soap

  • This was 14 years ago?! I remember it so clearly.

  • fantastic acting susen!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • OLTL at it's finest! I'm so glad I found this. Thanks :)

  • OP...do you have the cross examination by Nora??

  • I do have it. Nora was so damn brutal its hard for me to watch but I'll post it. Afterall, they are good friends now.

  • great! can't wait.

  • the original marty was such an incredible actress! i wish she was still on the show. she was one of the best actresses ever on oltl.

  • this was much better to me than the Karen Woleck scene. I know it sounds sacrilegious to say so, but this performance felt more natural to me. Judith Light overacted a bit.

  • No she didnt. How would you react if you husband was in the court room and being crossed examined by Herb of all people and had to admit you were a hooker and was blackmailed to keep doing it? You cant compare the two they are both superb actresses and watching the trial with Karen was classic soaps are not the same anymore and that is why i only watch one now and in a minute i will stop watching them lol

  • hmmm, I still think some moments didn't feel natural. You're right that some reactions can be extreme in real life, but I still don't think the way SHE portrayed those moments FELT natural. I know you wrote this 8 months ago, but I'm only seeing it now, lol.

  • Ok you are right sometimes characters can over react lol but I just like Judith Light and I loved her as Karen and she was superb actress but yeah Marty's reaction was more natural in a sense but as I said different people react differently on the stand especially if a lawyer is badgering you lol. I remember I had to testify for something and that lawyer made me so scared and nervous like i was on trial or something not the other person lol

  • This is right up there with the famous 1979 Karen Wolek trial. YOU GO SUSAN HASKELL!!!! All the Emmys ONE LIFE got for this story in '94 were so well deserved!

  • Thanks for posting. The new Marty SUUUUUUUUCKS! She is the worst therapist I have EVER seen!

  • Wow.. talk about INTENSE! Susan Haskell was beyond AMAZING. I remember when I first saw it back then, I was just blown away.

  • i like the new marty too shes cool

  • Thanks for posting this clip of the original Marty. Susan Haskell's excellent and that's not even saying enough. Although I have to say I do enjoy Cristina Chambers as Marty too.

  • THANK YOU! I have tons of tapes from this era of OLTL and wish I could put them up here as well, to share with the poor souls that have never seen the *REAL* Marty Saybrooke!
