  • Nasheed vowed that he would lower the price of the dollar to 10 rufiya(maldivian currency) on the campaign. But it is 15 now. He vowed that he would build 10000 housing units in maldives. But still not a single one is built. He vowed that he would have a mid term election. But still there isn't any. He have gone to more than 192 islands in the maldives and told all the impossible things he can not do.

  • He vowed that he would built an airport in Thimarafushi(Inhabited Island). He told he would built an airport in fuvahmulah(Inhabited Island). He is the biggest lieing president the world have ever seen. . He is a pretty much of jerk than a president.

  • The Maldives islands are just sinking down because there are too many people on the islands which put weight and pressure on them, it's not the fault of the sea level rising up. It's like being 30 inside of a small canoe. It's going to sink down because the pressure down is higher than the pressure up.

  • @isocrate27 That has to be the biggest ignorant statement I've never heard. Sea levers ARE rising, ice caps ARE melting, and glaciers ARE receding. Too many people in the island? Sink down like a Canoe? Please, go read some first grade science book. Islands are not floating entities.

  • @isocrate27 Excellent explanation. very impressive :-D

  • maldives is a example of how heaven would be like .....

    SUPERB...

  • this is fuckin mental.....

  • Google : Dr Dr. Nils-Axel Mörner , the head of the Paleogeophysics and

Geodynamics department at Stockholm University in Sweden.

He is past president (1999-2003) of the INQUA Commission

on Sea Level Changes and Coastal Evolution, and leader of the Maldives Sea Level Project. Dr. Mörner has been studying the sea level and its effects on coastal areas for some 35 years.

Dr Morner has repeatedly proved that the Maldives are not sinking and sea level is not rising.

  • Pity Tuvalu & the Maldives are INCREASING in area.

    Dave.

  • Pity Tuvalu & the Maldives are INCREASING in area.

    Dave.

  • Pity the Tuvalu is INCREASING in area

    Dave.

  • I can't help but thinking 50 years from now on their grandchildren would be totally ashamed of what they are doing in this video.

Well... maybe less than 50 years.

  • Hahahahahahahhahahhahhahhahahhahhahahhahah FOOLS. The co2 levels are not changing anything. Plants, trees and plankton need it! We are on a cooling period happens in cylcles like the seasons. When I was a child it use to snow in the 10-14 foot range. it still does. some more some less. This Climate change: (formerly Global bullshit) is still the same old story . you think you can change anything? Ha

  • wtf is this. what a shame....this kind of activities are disgusting and its waste.. it would be better if they spend for any other needs of the country .. like poverty, infrastructure...if they havent go for tht diving, than m damn sure that they could have saved that money to spend for the mostful needs..

  • Well, if they do go under, at least they have the scuba gear for it.

  • @wolfensteinable how much money are v talking about?

  • I thought the Maldives were supposed to be under water by 2001?

  • YAWN ! another scam . OH NO THE SKY IS FALLING watch out run for your lives !

  • The climate change deniers need to look at this. Especially in this COP15 fortnight. Entire nations will literally disappear.

  • @WORLD8NSH5KNIGHT1 ahh dont you remember in 1996 when they predicted that the Maldives would be under water by 2001? I guess they were wrong and here we are still 8 years later and no sea rise.

  • @jjhays36- no I don't remember, but the fact your president is going to these lengths to get attention to the issue indicates there is a real problem here. So, they don't get the exact date right......... that is not the point.

  • failtroll is fail

  • i dont . but i know my chemistry.

  • thanks for the news and Maldives for spreading the awareness

  • to poster below me ... BS!!!!

    "greater than 99%" ... BS!!!

Koolaidman is a graduate of Global Governance Gore-Bull Skool of BS and Global Con

  • These people are truly ignorant and ridiculous. Maldives have been occupied since 300 B.C. Industrialization has been going on for only about 200 years, and the planet itself is hundreds of millions of years old. Global warming is a scam for politicians and a quasi- religion for people whoa re desperate to believe in anyhting that will feed their envy. Geez, ridiculous.

  • Nice Cantos1917, I can write numbers that have nothing to do with empirical data too! Here we go: 5%. 7/10. 365 days in a year!

If you want to get truly scientific, here's this one: greater than 99% of scientists agree that the data we have shows a correlation between human activity and global warming.

  • correlation does not mean causation. you would have to be retarded to not see correlation.

  • how could you live in the Maldives and NOT have a scuba diving license?!

  • Hehehehehe IM A MALDIVIAN :D weee

  • Just rename the Maldives to Atlantis and no one will care.

It sure was a mal-dive! Ha ha.

  • @MountThor Go to Maldives, get as many Maldivian mwn, women and children as you can on a plane, get on that same plane and get out, QUICK! xD

  • run for your lives! the ocean is rising! 10cm per century! you don't have much time, hurry!

  • If RLove250 bothered to do some research instead of calling people names he'd be more intelligent in his replies. Antarctic ice had bits breaking off because the ice shelf has grown so much they snap off. It happens all the time which ius why we have had icebergs since the beginning of time.... While the Arctic ice has shrunk visibly, the southern ice shelf has expanded and is it's thickest it's been in the last ten years (much like his reply to me)

  • "Not every place on the planet warms uniformly, and there is significant regional variability. The ice in some parts of high-altitude East Antarctica is increasing, probably because of increases increase in precipitation over that region. Because the area is still below freezing, precipitation falls as snow, which increases the thickness of the ice. "

  • man i can't believe some of u guys are opposing this meeting, this ain't the first meeting held to warn ppl about disasters,, maybe u guys are haveing such a fu$^#% life not to care about us

  • The level of the seawater is rising. At last we humans as a race have found a concrete reason as to "Why bother to treat the planet more carefully?" Yay! Now lets allso bother to separate the metal from glass when recycling. :)

  • Show me some proof. Coral islands sink, they have been doing it since created, land masses erode and don't sink the same. Water 'rising' in one place and not in another is proof enough. The ocean must rise equally or not at all.

    So much for scientific intelligence.

  • Sea level change does vary due to lots of factors. But the overall average is rising and is well documented.

  • Where??? I've lived by the sea all my life. No change here.

  • if the president really want to cut amnt of gases..then cuts the plane based tourism in maldives...helll still they needs tourists...every one whos visits contributes to this global warmin...phew..

  • Man is so stupid it baffles the mind.

Carbon Dioxide is what all mammals exhale and all the plants and trees breath to live. This gas gives life!

Carbon Monoxide is the poison gas that comes out of your tail pipe on you car. This is a poison gas!

Now why does ALL Media and stupid stunts like this make the News stating these false claims? Because they (the NWO) need a way to tax you personally FOREVER! Wake the hell up people.

  • sure its important .. BUT you forget , just like everything else it must be in MODERATION . TOO MUCH IS BAD.

and besides warming the atmosphere it CO2 ALSO ACIDIFIES THE OCEANS. you need to read up on your chemistry.

  • Theswedechris: The main source of CO2 comes from our oceans and lakes geothermal activity etc. It comes from our planet we call home. The human factor does not raise this any registered amount. This Global warming is a scam! The planet is cooling. Don't buy into the Governments scam, the only thing they want is a venue that will never go away so there tax machine never stops.

  • wtf.... what a pointless way of holding a meeting.... how could somethign imortant be looked at under those circumstances

  • are you fucking retarded? this is a gesture to symbolize the future fate of maldives IF the climate keeps taking its negative turn that it is about to take. do you have to be always this negative?

  • Lots of arm-chair scientists in here pretending they actually know what they are talking about.

  • Oh, and by the way, while Arctic ice is shrinking, But Antarctic ice is growing so where is th 'global' warming???

  • Ever heard of a cyclus?

  • What are you talking about Antarctic ice shrinking. Chuncks of ice the size of rohde island are breaking off. Images show it receding. get your head out of your ass

  • They are corsal atolls that are SINKING gradually. What a lot of bollocks rising sea levels are. They'll still be pushing the message 400 years from now when the oceans are 1mm above their present levels.

  • Using hand signals at any meeting is risky, you never know who might accidentally interpret something as a middle finger.

  • who's gunna take this shit seriously...

  • CO2? or them doing it underwater?

  • them doing it under water and them trying to get other countries to cut down on the carbon.

  • sharks run... oh wait swim

  • They should have used the diving equipment marine archelogists, that way they can talk under water.

  • ok people, go to your kitchen, fill a glass up with ice, then fill the same glass with water, wait for the ice to melt and tell me if water level rises at all. C'mon people!!!! The ice caps are floating!!!! Even if they melt the sea levels will stay at the same level! This is because the amount of water displaced when the ice is solid is equal to the amount of liquid water added once it melts.

  • Sea ice is floating, yes. Ice on Greenland and Antarctica, however, is not, and therefore is not contributing to current sea levels.

When scientists speak of rising sea levels, they are talking about this ice, not sea ice.

  • Lets also remember the effect of thermal expansion kids.

  • wtf?

  • that would be suck if they have an overtime meeting

  • I have a VERY hard time taking Bible-Belt conspiracy theorists seriously, not just because you're 40 years old (according to your profile page) and have the grammar of a grade school student who never gets above a C minus, but also because you gave no evidence of your claims (How do you know Sachs's beliefs, and that Obama works for him?), and the evidence you did give was flawed (Water is roughly 1% of the atmosphere. If it was 95%, anything without gills would drown. Co2 is below 1%, though.)

  • I understand the symbolism behind it, but that's just ridiculous.

  • Subtlety is usually lost on most people. But, atleast you understand what they were going for=D

  • Well that just means the Government of the Maldives has turned into a WC!

  • the Plannet is cooling people. here comes the CO2 tax man. everything is gunna cost you more. get ready to bleed for goldmansacks

  • lol awesome

  • Point of order: There's a warm spot surrounding the good representative to my left.

  • this is very good, well done maldives !

  • Awesome!

  • more like a inflatable house lool
