Big props to this reporter, she kicked serious ass, kept her composure, and had a smile on her face the entire time....and a damn pretty face too I might add.
@phatphuck1792 - The blues don't wear g-suits because they feel that they would hinder their precision flying. G-suits inflate a significant amount amount under high g, and since the stick is so close to the pilot's legs, they don't want anything getting in the way.
Yes. Missions are frequently four hours and the requirement is to (theoretically) be able to sustain 9Gs for 10 seconds. Pro athlete type conditioning. And you thought you had to be in shape to race!
Wow, Kimberly Hunt! Babe, you even look great in a bulky helmet. Also, you maintained a beautiful smile & sparkly eyes.... now that takes GUTS! More than good looks though..... as always, you posted a great report that showed real respect for the pilot, his flying abilities, and the absolute raw power of the F-18 fighter aircraft. You are a great credit to the news media profession, and I'm proud of you as a San Diegan! Best Regards.
@oclvcarbon123 No, the Blues only give special flights to VIPs, usually news media personnel at airshow sites. ONly 3 selected at each site from a pool of hundreds who want it for their station/newspaper. Also a limited number of VIPs each year can fly, entertainment personalities and such.
