The Ivatt tank is one of favourites at the KWVR, along with 90733 and the Jinty. I hope one day, after she has been overhauled she makes a visit to Llangollen (the railway I volunteer on).
I have to say I'm liking the commentary! I've been experimenting with commentary for my videos in the past few weeks but I don't think I've got "the voice". Ah well, we'll see how it goes!
It shocked me when you sued she was built in 1949 and Finnish hear working like in 1965 she did not have a very long like at all and I must say this is your best film well don.
@Femmenition I did not know that so it is just sitting in a museum as a static display have it very been working since It was taken out of service in 1965?
Worked some RailTours in the 80s, but 9Fs are banned from the mainline (something to do with their wheels) so no more RailTours for her for the time being.
@Femmenition Yes I have just looked it up and you are very right it would cost a lot of money to get it working age maybe one day she will steam but I really don't think so.

Looking at her history I think she was once stationend there, maybe KWVr were let her visit before her ticket is up.

At 6:00 it looks like she had a bad cylinder or valve gasket leak.

There was (is?) one on the Mid Hants Railway too. Powerful little beasties. And very neat looking. Cut short by DMUs I guess.

@penninefilms That's fairly long for BR! Evening Star was built in 1960 and withdrawn in 1965!

@Femmenition God that is one short life for a steam locomotive?
penninefilms 1 year ago
@penninefilms Yes and look at Evening Star now - a static display piece! What a disgrace!

@Femmenition That's a sham so she just has to sit in a museum all day doing nothing and I bet she can work jut as well as the new A1 can?

@penninefilms
Would need an extensive overhaul, probably.
