  • Why do they pretend this works?

  • awwwww. i can't wait for the robotic bear! :D and I'll be needing it by then! XD

  • This is why japanese robotics found no use during the earthquake emergency earlier this year.

  • whats so hard about having a person doing this?

does Japanese women refute to be touched? that would explain a lot.

  • @boitahaki Try lifting an adult body an average of 40 times a day and then maybe you'll see "what's so hard" about it.

  • Isn't the whole point or robotics to do things without help of humans? From what I'm seeing the human did most of the important things. The bear just picked her up.

  • @emanthedragonchamp Nobody wants robots to fully replace nurses and other care workers. People in hospitals wouldn't like that much. Here, robots are expected to alleviate some of the stresses of the job, that's all.

  • @emanthedragonchamp Baby steps I guess. You build the technology slowly. Of course this product has no significant value as it is. But you have to start from somewhere. You can't reach the moon without learning to fly first.

  • Awww, come on. It's kinda cute.

  • "Don't confuse me with other bears"

  • You know why that girl isn't reacting to the robot? It's because she's been driven into a catatonic state from pure terror.

Japanese-robo-rape is not as fun as it sounds guys, especially when it may be happening to Grandma in a few years.

  • That doesn't look very comfortable. =\

  • Robotic BEAR nurse? How the hell does that make any bit of sense? Wtf Japan?

  • Sooo it's a robot who need constant help when assisting those humans who need constant help?

    ROBOT. FAIL!

  • That woman looks reasonably terrified.

  • Ahhh robots... always there to fill in the void of people who actually care about you

  • Somehow, I kept expecting it to robo-chop her neck.

  • @redman8903 A brown version will probably be for pediatric units xD

  • They make small cranes for lifting engines already. Cheaper than this pathetic robot I'm sure.

  • The girl in this video looks EXACTLY like one of my friends 0_o

  • That doesn't seem BEARY safe.

  • why the hell did they make it a bear. Bears aren't nurses!

  • Was anyone else spending the first half of the video trying to figure out if the woman was a mannequin or not?

  • This doesn't even seem remotely safe, no matter how far along in the development it is. It's large, stiff and needs assistance for it to assist... I can understand its use so medical personal don't hurt themselves, but this isn't safe for the patients at all for this point. The robot is very stiff and not that flexible.. It looks more like a modified forklift.

  • Damn that woman is fiiiiiiiiiiiiine.

  • педобир, теперь его ничто не остановит, как терминатора)))

  • They might have to modify the bear for obese people...

  • I wouldn't trust this holding a frail 90yr old lady.

  • @rachellemay111 It's been in development for several years and will be thoroughly safety-tested before it is actually used in Japanese hospitals.

  • lawl

  • Slow and dumb... this robot is completely useless...

  • @niente3 Useless to you maybe, but not to nurses who don't want to break their backs picking up your grandpa

  • @plasticpals1 need impruvements because all people is not that small

  • ja das ist wunderbär

  • omg sugoi!!

  • that girl's so cute!

  • and they say Americans are lazy,...

  • Dumbest shit ever!! If we 'really' have to go this route, why not make a programmable forklift? LOL!!

  • If you were in trouble, you would die if that thing tried to help you out. Plus, it's creepy...

  • @bdriz16 i find you lack of faith to Riba disturbing! Plus, hes cute! He has bear ears!

  • The "robotic bear" seemed to need a lot of help from the demonstrator and also it had to bend the patients back to lift her? Cool, but needs more work

  • @derivativedeli - I agree.
