Well haw come they are using roofing felt when they are not roofing no spacer between wall if they were doing my floor first piece they would of been fired Larry Currly and moe

ok, things, that i can see, where done wrong. 1. THE UNERLAYMENTS, oh my. please use a moister barrier and quite stride underlayment. This stop the moister from the sub floor from getting into the laminate, and the quite stride is to cushion it, and not have it sound "hollow"
2. ACCLIMATE! All of the flooring boxes MUST be acclimated for AT LEAST 48 hours to adjust to the temp and humidity in the room its being installed in.
This is unbelievable....holy shit. I just did about 1000 square feet of Pergo in my home....never laid it down before....but did it according to instructions (spacers, cut jambs, etc.) and peopel have commented that my floor looks professionally done....and I did every bit myself. This is just unreal......these guys are losers. Dude you could have done this work yourself....it's not that tough - just need the right tools (and these guys didn't have them!)
Why are they using roofing felt instead of the vinyl coated pad with a double lock vapor barrier. What the hell are they diong around the door jamb ?. Looks like they used tile nippers to notch out tjhe floor. How about under cutting the jamb? Have these clowns EVER attended an installation school of any kind? Why put down laminate shit when they could have wood. When we ask why do we have to be certified we can thank dumb asses like these for the need A handyman special install. we be good
OMG, i don't know where to start, i wouldn't be surprised if the floor hasn't already started to buckle and bow.
did i see that right, i could have sworn i saw him cut one of the pieces with a Stanly knife, lol,and the cut around for the pillar... hilarious, rookie mistake.
I bet you bought the cheapest chit you could find, haggled them on price, and taped it because you just can't buck up to real world contractors with real world prices. Go ahead to court, you are part of the problem. This video angers me.
@Joshawanao None of the above. They came recommended, did other work in my house I paid them what they asked 1000.00 took 3 weeks and i filmed it thinking it'd make a nice before and after video. When it started buckling I almost had to drag him into the house for him to explain why it was doing that he took one look and said it was from my recent use of the AC. he's since been banned from all contract work in the area as they were found breaking into a house + he's in jail for it with them.
Also that crap by door makes them look like dumb as shit, they should have used a jambsaw or atleast a backsaw to do a pro job. There are alot of people out there that just lose their job and all of a sudden they are a carpenter without any kind of training, it is degrading to our profession.
Did they allow floor to acclimate 48 hours+ in basement before installation? Did they leave a 1/8 gap expansion by brick walls? was the floor very wavy? was that run longer then 27" from the wall to that door and was it a stud built wall cause then it should have a 1/4" gap on that wall and another 1/4 i'd say just for the run being longer then 27' of run.
I have never installed laminate flooring myself, I am having it done by a professional. Having said that, what have they done wrong? Not arguing here, just asking to be informed. Thanks ahead of time.
uhh to start with ur supposed to lay a quiet walk padding down 1st unless it is built into the floor i watched long enough to see now built in pad. floor must be pretty crunchy and noisy by now. not to mention buckle up. hope u got this taken care of
Inconsistant and too small expansion gaps, and they haven't randomly staggered the boards so it looks like a zip going across the floors, Amateurs at best! did they cary out a moisture test before installing the floor?
wow you got them on cam there cowboy gun slinger, did they knock on your door and say will be beat every other price you get, looks like they took three of them to get it done rip your pants down and nic your cash then run off to the nerest bar or dealer,it looks nasty like there birds lol
most floors made with a special attention to the texture so when you instal it you can actualy put them together so that the texture will look nice and clean.
thse guys did it on Blind no atention to anything.
@MrLastyme Music doesn't sound MEXICAN to me, please don't call this a Mexican Installation, it is Fucking Sad for you to say such a thing, the video is Funny, guys don't know what they are doing but the way this video is played is funny, enjoy life!
@Edwardgbe I wish u could see my floor its has since buckled and blames it on my AC. And the estimates i got to fix it says the same thing you just did. I'm glad I tapped it and hope it stands up in court.
the laminate should hold up the water long enuf to get it up. I was told be the installers if we let the water sit a few days it would only seep through and raise up the flooring. that would not be good for the flooring underneath esp. if it's just wood
Question: Last summer we noticed a huge leak in two of our bedrooms. The roof was leaking. The landlord agreed to put a new roof on the house, but we had to rip out the carpet and now we don't even stay in the bedrooms because of no flooring, the roof cannot be fixed until summer now because the landlord waited too long.. So we ended up laying laminate on the floors that will be wet in the upcoming thaw. (But the roof will be installed ASAP in summer) Will the laminate be damaged severely?
