the monocolor disc were the older ones look at smg 1 and zack and wiki but look in to the later games like smg 2 tatsunoko vs. capcom and others they have full color discs

I think it looks like crap... the only thing I liked on this packaging art is the shadows of the karts, that's pretty cool. but everything else is just stale, I wonder why Mark actually said it wasn't =S it's really bland.

I always thought this cover was weird. I don't like that Mario and Luigi are playing the game that they're in. It's like if the cover of Metal Gear Solid had Snake on it holding a Playstation controller. Also the using the wheel is the most awkward and unresponsive way to play this game, so I don't like the emphasis placed on it.

@Amaranthus616 The wheel is great if you know how to use it, I won loads of races with it often as the only wheel user and got the golden wheel with star logo.

It feels loose and unrealistic yes, but it is still responsive and works very well, I found it to be a lot more fun than standard controls.

I've been playing Mario Kart games since the original too so I certainly appreciate conventional controls too.

@Amaranthus616 Well I actually agree with you to the extent it's not really a traditional wheel, initially it's not particularly comfortable, the floaty feeling isn't really like driving, but it certainly is usable and I grew to like it a lot.

At least they allowed multiple control types to keep everyone happy and not force the wheel on anyone, definitely a wise decision.

I actually find this artwork one of the most boring artworks for games packaging ever if i'm honest, infact, I think from the intro video to the menu screens, they are bland and lack any real detail or imagination, and i know many who think this also.
