Remove the attitude that black males whom have emotinos for me, or feel kindness are subservient to me, emotinally! Remvoe the attitude that these men are punks or followers!
Back then,YO! MTV RAPS barely played anything from the south, and BET was mostly playing rappers from the north and the west coast. Several southern rappers didn't get exposure like BIZ, Kane,EPMD,BDP,NWA,PE,LL, too many to list. Thats how groups like this were missed. You had to live in South to know about these guys. Peace.
This is fuckin dope. What happened to the Golden Chains era? That 'golden jewelry' culture goes way back to the kings of Ashanti and the Mandinka empire, 15th century, West-Africa. Thats why I love it so much.
@nilbog44 i'm in the UK and i remember this, not heard it for 20 years, didn't even know there was a video for it, but the shit still sounds fresh to me !!
This is the first time I've ever heard of this group and this song. i feel I've been sleeping on this...but damn is this great! This was pretty much the year I got exposed to hip-hop from my older siblings (I'll be 27 next month).
King Edward J IS the mixtape king... all others bow to His Majesty... I still have an Edward J tape from 1986-87. S.O.S. Band's 'Just Be Good to Me' mixed with UTFO's 'Roxanne, Roxanne'. Tightest EVAAAAAAA!
King Edward J IS the mixtape king... all others bow to His Majesty... I still have an Edward J tape from 1985. S.O.S. Band's 'Just Be Good to Me' mixed with UTFO's 'Roxanne, Roxanne'. Tightest EVAAAAAAA!
Shout out to the J -team spinning out of the Candler -McAfee plaza! a nifty thrifty thirteen fifty got you 90mins. of mixed tape hotness! dont forget DJ Smoove on that roster playboy. big on the flashback.
I love the beat in this song -real catchy-just have to say it is good ,for me to say that it is saying a lot cos am not realy a rap fan but dig this one ! :P LOL :)))
remeber when the mainstream mtv and bet refused to play southern videos from companys that didnt have major backing or top chart status? like this one. i bought everything success in effect dropped in those days. yet its 2010 and this is the first time ive ever seen this video. i used to jam this song and tape all the time. the box played it im sure. i didnt get that channel.
This is how the south got down. Shout out to shy d- 2 live crew- poison clan-anquette(did i spelled dat rite?) success n effect. Wow those wer da days of real hip hop
Yeah feeling this 1 even know i have been buying hip hop vinyl since 86 ant gone none these crew in my collection but will do some time in the futre, peace DJ GEEBEATS.
