  • I was there when I was a kid ,I was there in the very beginning,I remeber the clapping and a lady crying afterwards ,I remember the ambulance that was there the guys too .Crazy memory .,Jessica got married she is doin just fine now :).

  • I lived in Midland when this happened. I was six, maybe seven years old. I can still remember the horns honking ALL over town.

  • I remember watching this with my family live. Still brings out emotion to this day.

  • So this is what brenda was talking about

  • I remember this I was little at the time. My aunt watched from start to finnish. We cried when they finally pulled her up. We scream "Thank you lord Jesus".

  • i hafted to do big reserch paper on her

  • @superskullz52 I hope next you will get some tutoring in English.

  • I was named after her... I am 23 years old now and when my dad told me how my name came about it truly inspired me... he named me after a survivor. Not so much a fighter, but a survivor... And it means a great deal to me... Thanks for the video :)

  • av been lookin for this film for years and i found it on amazon

  • Tune into the Biography Channel July 12 for Aftermath with William Shatner as he profiles the aftermath of the rescue of Jessica McClure. Producers used The Rainbow's Shadow as a major piece of the research for the program.

  • You'll love the story re-told along with the untold stories in the book by D. Lance Lunsford ... The Rainbow's Shadow. Look it up on Lulu.com

  • Loved that true movie. Its never on tele anymore though :(

    Ima have to buy it!

  • @xClaireLouise19 Check out the book about the rescue called The Rainbow's Shadow.

  • KIDS DON'T GO NOWHERE NEAR PIPES!

  • That's my uncle in the green hat no lie.

  • Popteart, perhaps what you're saying is true, but this clip was about then - not now. And by the way, there's no e in pop-tart.

  • is this on a dreamcast?! YES!!!!

  • Wow, I just finished watching the movie...I was 5 when this happened and I remember it like it was yesterday. Such an amazing story with an amazing ending!!!

  • I remember talking to her and her husband about 2 years ago. Was going to do some work with her husband for a job and she walks up just outside their house. I said hello and nice to meet you. She says hi. Her husband says this is Jessica. I say hello. He says baby Jessica. I say thank you for surviving. I tell her that she made alot of wonderful things happen because of her situation. Continuous live event coverage was born on a world wide scale. That was before the Internet! Amazing!

  • I am from Midland, Texas. Born and raised 1978. I remember going over there with some buddies on our bicycles and hanging around for awhile. Then we were told to back away from the area. Obviously 9 year olds and heavy machinery coming in could only mean more trouble. I used to think they were being mean to us, but as a 32 year old I totally understand why they wouldn't want a few punk kids hanging out in the area. They were on a mission. Success.

  • happy birthday!

  • Wow I remember watching all this news coverage with my mom when I was about 4. It was pretty dramatic, and almost awesome how this little 18 month old could bring an entire nation together. My mom was crying as they brought her up, and I vaguely remember just starting at her like, "Wth is your problem? Why are you crying?"

  • rarely cryed. Pretty good. most babies will cry even when normal.

  • @SCHNEIDER0122 how could you be 22 now when you watched this live when you were 7? It makes no sense. I was born in '90 and I'll be turning 20 on the 23rd of the month. You should be at least 28 or 29. If not then you mustve seen this long after it actually happened. It wouldn't have been the actually occurance. Am i right?

  • My parents were so captivated by her story that they actually named me after her(:

  • I have seen her in Wal Mart when I worked in Midland she is now married and is doing well

  • It 'a similar case happened in Italy in 1981, a little boy named Alfredo fell into a well, but unfortunately he died

  • cant imagine... only 8 months old and trapped into a well for what, 56 hours? just cannot believe it, but thank god she is okay now. just has that one foot problem and some scars, but its better than nothing.

  • Yeah Jessica is grown woman ..age 24 and married...has a son now...She is fine.

  • my god poor kid

  • I was 12 when this happened I rember watching yje rescue live on TV

  • I watched this movie with my mother when i was 7 years old i am 22 years old now i have never forgotten it and i never will... and i will continue to look for the video

  • @SCHNEIDER0122 Blatant lie. 1987. You were born in 1989 if you're 22. It's fun to be able to do basic math.

  • that's Alex Jones talking in this video after Dan Rather i know his voice anywhere its in Texas too, yeah definitely Alex Jones the fraud.

  • I was 6 years old when this happen and I still remember it like it was just yesterday.

  • Its easy. they make an adapter that lets you connect your VCR, DVD or DVR to your computer. I have one that will also let you connect a TV antenna so you can record directly off the air. Best Buy has a "Dazzle" video capture for $49 and they have a "Happauge" that has the antenna connection for recording HDTV for $79. It sure beats pointing a camera at your TV.

  • i remember this. i was like 7 or 8 years old and this was such huge news all over the world. my mom told me that the little girl was singing to herself to keep herself from being afraid she was down there for over 2 days! there's actually a news coverage of her all grown up and going back to the well where she fell in. of course she as too young to remember.

  • i wasn't born when this happened....i honestly don't remember how i ended up on this video...does anyone know how she fell?

  • @dalishus09 She was playing in the backyard, when her mom went inside to answer the phone. when she came back outside the other children that were there were standing around the well, then she heard baby jessica calling out to her. I wasn't born yet but i read it from an interview that jessica did in 2007.

  • I remember this I was living in Fort Stockton, Texas at the time. I was just a little boy but I remember this very well.

  • Robet O'Donnell killed himself because of PTSD caused by this event and William Andrew Glasscock is in prison for sexually assaulting a child. On a happier note, Jessica has her own son.

  • @Emorkia PTSD what is that

  • @dijornopizza PTSD is post traumatic stress disorder

  • @Emorkia , So what's your point ? PTSD my ass. If Jessica had died in the well, I could understand PTSD. There was no reason for PTSD for O'Donnell.

O'Donnell couldn't stand the fact that everyone moved on but him. He wanted to be the HERO FOREVER. He couldn't stand it that no one cared after a while that he was the one who rescued the girl.

And the rescue or post rescue had NOTHING to do with Glasscock's crimes.

  • I remember watching this on the news when it happened; I was 7 years old at the time. I could not have imagined what it would have been like to be stuck in an 8 inch wide hole 20 feet under. Today, Jessica's all grown up, married, and has a child.

  • i have the movie

  • @flokica1 where did you find it i have been looking forever?

  • I'm just about a year younger than Jessica (I was born in May of 1987), and it's so weird to me to think that I was a baby just like her when she fell into that well. I do wish I could have seen the whole thing on TV, but I was too focused on learning how to crawl and talk at that age, lol.

  • Humans at their best. My wife and I watched this and cheered and applauded along with everyone else. I hope she lives a long and happy life.

  • I remember being 7 years old and watching this. It was HUGE NEWS. My mom, dad, small brother and me just sat quiet and watched the whole thing. News had a way of being more exciting back then. Today's news are so - eh LOL

  • Ugh remember being glued to my set during this whole ordeal. I cannot recall ever having been so moved by the news.

  • I'm about four months younger than Jessica and remember my dad talking about this.

  • I was in Army Basic Training at Ft. McClellan, AL when this happened. Midland, TX is my home town and I can remember my mother sending me a letter about all of this. Can't hardly believe it has been that long ago.

  • 22 yrs Today... hard to believe!

  • Happy 22nd Anniversary of the rescue!!! o(^_^)o

  • love the film, i have been looking for it 4 soo long nw n still kno closer 2 it. if u can help me n find this film as a torrent...send me da link plz.

  • Netflix or no one has it. Your best shot is to try your local library - which may have it on an old video tape. Maybe E-bay, too. Stan

  • search the pirate bay and use the exact title.I found it

  • no her foot did not get amputated! one of her big toes did

  • thank you! i have been on a couple of sites and all it says is that she was injured and not exactly what she had injured x

  • She got gangrene.

  • can somebody tell me what happened to Jessica McClure x

  • when she was 18 months she fell down an eight inch hole and was stuck down there for like 3 days and surprisingly she got out alive

  • I was there that day I just happened to be playing at Garret Brown Park.

I remember the cops closing down some of the streets.

  • She survived but she had lots of surgeries ahead of her including skin graft operations and part of her one her feet was amputated.

  • aww that must we awful .. didn't she break her leg or something ?? and why did they have to amputate part of her foot ?? sorry i have so many questions x

  • I have seen the movie and when they were trying to pull her out I think they ended up injuring her leg or her hip. I don't know why her foot was amputated probably badly damaged or something I will look her up and see what else I can find.

  • they had to amputate part of her foot due to circulation being cut off ffrom that part of her foot :/

  • Her leg twisted up when falling down, due to her leg position there was no circulation which cause gangrene. So she had a few cirjuries to remove the gangrene and they had to cut off part of her leg. She got a lot of money thou so whe will do well, People from all over the world send her money this money is in a trust fund and she will receve it when she gets 25, which will in 2011

  • Not part of her leg, just some toes.

  • She got married her parents got a divorce

the well in which she was pulled from had a plate cover to commemorate that night however the previous owners got rid of it to many people were showing up through out the years.

  • video was also featured on michael jacksons man in the mirror mtv...

  • if we could have found one survivor>>>>

    recovery by hand..recovery with respect.

    ironworker ground zero

  • @gndzroirnwkr We did everything we could at that site, my brother. I wish we could have found them all, I wish we could have given them all back to their families. Ryan-firefighter, WTC.

  • I remember being a little kid when this happened. Thank God that poor little girl survived that.

  • 2:36 is also in the Rescue 9-1-1- intro.

  • 1:33 can be heard in the rescue 9-1-1- intro as the medic carries jessica to the ambulance.

  • i remember this, i was a kid back then, now i am an adult i can appreciate how much of as great thing this was when they recued her =)
