@mrvaqueroman It was entirely based off of Journey to the West, which has been translated and adapted hundreds of times over. The artwork is, obviously, the Gorillaz's Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett (as the description says). Akira Toriyama has repeatedly stated that Sun Wukong (The Monkey King) was a major influence for the character of Son Goku.
