this is the kind of Ryukin i have been looking for. Is there a good place to buy them in the usa? I have one I would like to breed it with. I've only bred some fancies in my pond, but the red ryukins....love it!
@Dustinsfishtanks i have actually seen these (smaller though like 3") at petsmarts, they have been getting them in and they turn into VERY nice fish with high humps and good color. they are 13.99 in stores
Same with any goldfish. If it's a male it might develop breeding tubicles on it's gills (little white spots). But the easiest way to tell is if you have multiple fish and they try to breed one another.

I just posted a video last night of them. They're about 3" long, and I'm so nervous that I've done 3 complete tests of their water since last night. Why don't you want to have them indoors where you can really see 'em good?

Haha, I have a ryukin of similar color, but is a bit smaller in size. We named him Hitler b/c of the red mustache he has.

Yep. It was only for video taking purpose. It's still with me and it's being housed in an outdoor 4ft by 2.5ft tub
