This was the film that brought protection for animals in films, after uproar over the animals deaths. I also read that in real life the French had run out of ammunition and decided to charge instead of retreat...
I'm pretty sure this is based off of a war called the Red War or something like that because of all the blood that was spilled and because it was against Russia...idk I just read it...I'm not positive...
