hehe, my Bichon does that too whenever he sees or senses strange animals outside, like cats, possums & raccoons, & sometimes other dogs. It's the same kind of 'tough' bark, like "rrrrr-RUFF!!!". He really doesn't bark all that much... but when he does, he means it!

i think is a form of calling for attention, my basset barks at other dogs she sees outside, but when near them or outside walking , she doesnt bark at anything, even if we walk by a house with and outside dog, that barks like crazy...she would just look at them, and no sounds comes out of her mouth :)...I love it :)

shes been like this since she was a puppy, so cute but when the big dogs are near her she shuts up.

@kashbash4 haha yeah my 2 year old one acts so tuff but he cant do crap and he chases bunnys he wouldnt know what to do if he caught one haha

Mine does the same~! lol I posted a video of my bichon barking at a large pit across the street. He thinks he's so big and in charge when he's only 11lbs!!
