If i were Hatos-Hall when the show is in Canada, replace the Fake LMAD Money (with Monty's Portrait in it except for the $500 bill), For Scenes of Canada Banknotes which is used from 1969-1979 and the $1,000 bill will be from the 1954 series with Queen Elizabeth II on the Obverse, after the show they should keep the Canadian Bills or change it for USA Bills.
And when LMAD returned in 1984, I wonder if any stations ran it back-to-back with the 1980 version. I could imagine the promos: "More deals, more Monty, more Zonks!"
Where on Earth did you find this clean copy? I haven't seen this version since 1983 when KICU San Jose was rerunning it. What a treasure! I wish I could find the theme music.
Yes... Monty used to say that the contestants could redeem it in the currency of their choice. I assume that meant either the Canadian or the U.S. dollar.

I don't recall if Dean Muchio was seen on camera on LMAD90, or on the other show he announced, THat's my Dog. I do think Vance D. was shown on camera on LMAD2K3. LMAD80 was shown on WPHL17(now a My Network station) at 4PM weekdays, but I think they dropped it midseason. Dancin on Air, the local dance show that was nationally aired as Dance Party USA on USA Network in the late 80s, premiered on WPHL sometime in 1981, I don't recall the start date. LMAD may have been lost to make room for it.
@JAldridge86 - It did, indeed...only lasted the one season here, but continued to play in reruns north of the border on Global for the next few years (though a few stations here in the US did rerun this version for a spell, including WOR/9 in NY-NJ).
I figured as much; Detroit, Chicago and Seattle and New York I can understand because those cities are northern cities and close to canada, but Atlanta? That's kind of an unusual choice.
Brian Cummings sounded and acted more Jay than any other announcer. Also of note, This would be the 3rd and last opening used for LMAD before going off the air in 1981.
Did she win a trio of trash cans as their "ZONK" prize??

@oaklandfan2k9 Yeah....that's what they did with the fake dollars.

Canadian currency facts: The $500 bill was exclusive to the 1935 series of Canadian banknotes. The $1000 bill ceased printing in the year 2000.

Is the reason the "LMaD Money" was used due to the show airing in Canada & the US?

Has anyone written or e-mailed Canadian cable channel GAME TV to see if they would start airing LMAD 1980?

Didn't this air in the US as well? I seem to recall hearing it did, as least briefly.

IIRC this aired in Seattle and I think Detroit and Atlanta as well during it's run in the US.

@Nickle98499 - Yeah, it got nationwide clearances, from what I understand.

@Nickle98499 In Chicago it aired on WSNS 44 in 1980-1981.

Interesting

Was that the only game show on Channel 44 shown at that time?
sugarbear522 2 years ago
@sugarbear522 No, in the 1980-1981 TV season WSNS 44 also aired the Buddy Hackett revival of "You Bet Your Life".

CHuck Chandler is/was more reminiscent of Jay than Jonathan Mangum, Brian Cummings, or Dean Goss is.

@zachhoran You forgot:
Vance Degeneres (LMAD 2003)
Dean Mcuhio (LMAD 1990)
