no matter if u have a snorkel or not if you dont know wat ur doing ull still take water in ur axles trans and engine because water after a certain depth has enough atmospheric pressure to sneak thru ur gaskets even tho ur oil wont come out. trust me the only reason i dont like land rovers is the body style there too pretty for me personally, but yes a snorkel on a suburu could do the same thing but then again no ones really gonna listen, lol

Sorry but your wrong there if the car has breathers set up on the the snorkel like mine you dont get any water in at all. I have done the same with mine, then checked the axles afterwards. Not a drop of water in them.

@bandp2 thats in a perfect world, and cork gaskets on the diffs arent always installed perfectly or built to the highest standards ive seen water in all kinda of diffs ranging from 1foot -12feet its all possible now one thing to remember is if you plan on doing alot of river crossings like we do during summer/fall we welded our diff covers and RTVed our oil pans so it really helps but when u get trucks like us there far from stock so its really not a matter of who made wat anymore:)
