Cake Decorating : Wedding Cake Disaster

I think this would be perfect for making into CAKE POPS! At least everything was pd for my insurance. I dont' think it's fake.. I think these things do happen & hopefully the day went off without any other problems.

@crazy4crafts we did make some cake trufles/balls from the cake lol. the bride was way cool and she came back for her anniversary cake and ordered a bday cake for her hubby as well. i wish this would have been a fake then i wouldn't still have problems with my wrist or shoulder

That is my worst fear!!. Every time I transport a cake, I'm in fear until the second the cake is at the wedding reception... So many things can happen on the way. And that's tragic that you put so much time into it and it was ruined. I would cry... Good to here they were understanding, and you got reimbursed.

@asianjae15 fake? haahhaha i wish. i had to go for 8 months of physical therapy and cortizone shots for my wrist and shoulder not to mention my van was totalled and ih ad to wait 6 months to get another car because their insurance company didn't want to pay up.

Wait a minute. The person talking is WHO? Did I hear her say that they had to reimburse the bride and groom for the cake? I must have missed something. The only person that should be doing some "reimbursing" is the person that caused the accident. But, I see a rain slick highway, and would venture to say it would be a "no fault" accident. And WHY is it that the cake baker has to get something over to the bride and groom...AGAIN?

I'm glad everyone was cool and no-one was hurt. This certainly wasn't yours or the bride and groom's fault. I hope you went after the person who hit you for reimbursment...bet they weren't expecting to buy a wedding cake, lol

fortunately her ins.company reimbursed us and we were able to reimburse her.

Well, it worked out in the end. Bride was very understanding and we refunded her money.

My mouth was down to the grouned with every second that I watched this video. So sorry and I hope you are feeling better soon. Compared to this, my wedding cake semi-disaster earlier this month (cake started to shift in the car, but fixed it at reception), doesn't even compare. Looking forward to your many other beautiful cake creations.

Oh I am sorry to hear abt this accident. After reading all the previous comments, I am glad that you were not hurt (except for the wrist pain).

I know, the pain is somewhere else, in ur heart. You must have put so much of ur effort and patience to make a wedding cake and it did not get its serve its purpose. But then its truely nice to know that the bride was understanding and calm. Thats a relief in a way.

I'm so sorry this happened to you! I have nightmare's about this kind of crap happening to me while delivering cakes! Look at it this way, it will probably never happen again! I hope you're feeling better and that everything has worked out in your favor! :) God bless you!

If I may echo the sentiments expressed above; I am so sorry this happened but glad to hear that you are okay. Like you said its just a cake and thank god you are hear to make many many more:-)

Wow!! How are you doing now? Everything ok? So sorry this happened! I think I would have buried my face in the remains of the cake, consoled myself by eating large amounts of the disaster :(

im doing ikay my wrist hurts a lot and ihave it ina splint but nothing was broken. xrays came back fine but im going to see m y own doc. its hard tod ecorate and type with only one good hand

oh my goodness! i am so sorry to hear about your accident! Thank goodness no one got hurt, im sure cake cant feel any bruises. If anything happened to you we would have lost a great cake decorator! Glad you are okay and that grooms cake still looked good!
