What power in the high notes, yet how seductively in the title words: " my lips kiss so hotly". She can't, and shouldn't hide her Brazilian roots but this lady can appear at La Scala or Vienna or London any time. Perfection even without the tutelage of Andre. I'm sure she can shatter glasses at random, she's that good!

Geht gar nicht. Die Sängerin sicherlich halbwegs brauchbar (vergl. Anna Moffo oder Anneliese Rotenberger), aber das Orchester KATASTROPHAL vor allem auch, dass man das komplette Zwischenspiel einfach wegkastriert hat. Schade - aber halt das Niveau von André Rieu - und das ist gaaaaaaaanz unten.

i wasnt sure what i thought about her voice because there was a lot of straight tone and sliding but i think that she knows that but is doing that as part of her interpretation because her high notes are gorgeous, pingy, solid, and controlled, its clear she is extremely trained and polished. personally i wish she would do less sliding and come right on top of the pitch

@mssrubertha, I've got a more expository explaination. You're not musical. Then it's hard to listen to a new version with an open mind.

Mrs Monarcha sing this piece absolutely perfectly within the framework of modern native operatta style. She is a very important figure to get opera and operatta back to what it should be, and what it should not: females with subharmonics prodused by overgrown vocal cords sounding like men. She sing with a pure feminine voice. Sadly the sound quality is poor.
