@rsr530 actually do your research 6.0 is the strongest suck motor they made. More so than cummins and duramax. Does it have its problems, yes, but I've owned dodge and now currently the 6.0 and I will never own anything else than the 6.0. It's not a pos truck, it's called operator error.

It's just a turbo back exhaust, cat and muffler deleted. The VGT will make noise when it spins. When it stops making noise, you got a problem.

@Stroker6L my neighbor has one that has well over 265k on it and has never been cracked open other than the oil changes and general maintenance. he says the trick is to get rid of the crappy elc. he bought it new in 03 and takes it to alabama every week, sometimes twice a week. seems the 03s were either hit or miss.

I've owned 2 Cummins and 1 Duramax. I want a Powerstroke to further my experience with diesel pickups. Powerstrokes aren't shitty. The EPA is shitty. If a 6.0L didn't come with an EGR cooler, EGR valve, and poor coolant from Ford...the design is quite amazing for 6.0 V8 liters of displacement.

@NeilLB7 Ford man here. The 6.0, 6.4, and 6.7 diesels are quite shitty in comparison to the old 7.3's. I never understood how a smaller engine with less HP could get less fuel milage then a 7.3. 7.3 = 20-22 MPG, 6.4 = 14 MPG.

If you want a GOOD Powerstroke, get any of the ford diesels made before 2002. 7.3's are beast.

Just put and Egr delete kit and ARP studs and she'll be just as good as any 7.3 out there. Just keep up with proper maintenence and she'll last a life time.. Its the people who dont know what they are doing who give the 6.0 a bad name..

@2004trickblaster depends what state you are in, but in Texas they don't do emmissions test on diesel trucks. they only do a safety inspection that's why inspection on a diesel is only $12.50. A brand new diesel wouldn't pass inspection to begin with even with the brand new cat and muffler.
