Alright Chris please reply to my comment/message. I followed the Psfreedom tutorial, and I tried to understand your FAQ. But I still don't know what to do. Ok here is my question: Ok first I can't drag and drop openiboot folder to ubuntu it shows me a 0 with a / in the middle. You said something about putting in on a USB but HOW do I load the openiboot from the USB to ubuntu?! Were do I go.? Im confused please HELP!

when it is connected to the itunes it says that it is in recovery mode not in the restore mode and when i click restore it says that i want to update to 3.1.3

@AcEzMediaGaming try using a different computer, i was having the same problem then i redownloaded the VM ware player version 3.1 or 3.0, not the newest 1 but a version a little older, then redid all the steps on a diff. comp., then it worked for me.

If your having trouble with ./loadibec use the 32bit version of ubuntu.

For some reason the 64bit version doesn't work (for me at least)

Dont worry its very fast to switch from 64bit to 32bit and VMware tools install automatically so you can use the loadibec command right away

@angel92482 I had the same problem as you for a while I tried ubuntu on my laptop and in VMware, but it was 64 bit when I tried the 32bit version it worked like a charm.

And yes, I have it - my iPhone - CONNECTED to the host but still nothing. Like I said, I did everything but it just refuses to get pass this point. I have tried restoring and re-jailbreaking multiple times which didn't fix anything. I tried iPhoDroid and it stops at the part where it's suppose to boot into Openiboot or the Android OS (whichever) well I never get the screen. Once again, someone please help. I've read a gazillion forums and have encountered countless others with the same problem.

Oh-kay, I've invested a lot of hours into trying to get this simple process done but I'm honestly getting stomped. I'm in the same boat as McLuvinUK2 (the gay Canadian popstar :) ). I've done EVERYTHING as directed; a FRESH install of 3.1.2, iPhone 3G, blackra1n jailbroken, Ubuntu 10.04 from a VM, permissions properly set and every other thing perfectly done but still when I get to the "./loadibec openiboot.img3" it - my iPhone - does nothing.
