dude! pull your head out and get the 25th year operation mindcrime reunion tour ready! what the fuck are you waiting for? and fly into the stadium on your charter plane that you fly all the time now. congrats on you pilots license, Chris!!! Call me to say hi! 626-437-3443. Steve in Anaheim!
I think DeGarmo left just in time. He seemed to see the writing on the wall. I love Older Queensryche but since Empire, they started to decline in intensity. They should have stuck to prog metal instead of trying to fit into mainstream. They got diluted. They are all very talented but they seem to have forgotten how to use that talent. Now it's a "cabaret" act! It's embarrassing.
@mindstormsabrewin agreed!Wanted to see Caberet.Saw some posts and thought what the Hell is going on here! I saw the operation mind crime tour and was good with that! Such a vulgar sexual content in the snips of Caberet.Do not want to see the wives/family members doing trash onstage (Jet City Woman or Sister Mary...those gals ruled).Chris has such insight, creativity,a soul! He move on to the next chapter in his life!Enough said!!!!
A few days ago I rewiewed do not know how much time to Queensryche.
It was great. but something was missing .....
I felt that, because I remember with pleasure the sound from `92, when I first saw.
I wish with all my heart, that Chris was come back in The Band. His place is in Queensryche and Queensryche is: Geoff Tate, Chris DeGarmo, Michael Wilton,
Thanks for uploading this, strangecat33. Would love to see Chris with the band again. Looking back at old videos and interviews, it's clear that he was the driving force behind the band. It wasn't just his guitar-playing, but his songwriting and personality. He seemed very methodical and great at articulating his vision for the band. We can all hope for a reunion, but in the meantime, it's very cool that he has other talents outside of music.
besides the fact that he is a well rounded musician, hes just a little bit yummy! when i see him, i feel like a little girl who cant stop giggling! tee hee!
i agree with you man!! Queensryche are one of my fav bands ever, they still are amazing today, just miss chris, and NOONE willever replace chris as a guitarist, backing vocalist in QR,the new album AMerican Soldier is really awesome and i think its the best album they have ever done without chris, maybe it will inspire him to come back if he listens to it cause i know he will be proud of his former bandmates and buddies!
chris degarmo is still one of my compases. i always end up coming back to him and old ryche. it's been hard but i think i've just about figured the new ryche out as a separate entity.
and for the record CHRIS DEGARMO IS A CHARTER PILOT IN SEATTLE AND HAS NOT BEEN CHASING THE DRAGON FOR THE PAST 11 YEARS.
I have been Quensryche fan for years but I can´t understand why Chris quit to the band.. I don´t like the new one ,He doesn´t match ..if there are hundreds of guitarrists why??? they chose the worst....
All Qeensryche's best material was made with Degarmo in the band. neither of the guitarists since are anywhere near his standard, come back Chris your band needs you !!. nice video too.
Go to any older Queensryche album and check to see how many times DeGarmo's name is by songs for writing them entirely or at-least co-writing them.He honestly in my opinion was irreplaceable as guitarist and backing vocalist for Tate.
Nice tribute...Chris is truly missed. Queensryche is still a very talented band but I think they are truly missing that certain something that Chris brought. Mindcrime was written mainly by Tate...but "The Mission" really stands out to me and De Garmo penned that one. He really adds the emotion and mystique to a song.
I agree. Mindcrime was my all-time favorite album. I bought the livecrime box set and wore out the vhs tape. Of all the songs on it, the mission is the song I still love most. Absolutely mind-blowing.
"Best I Can" and "Eyes of a Stranger" are two of the greatest rock songs ever written. DeGarmo is a genuinely talented and powerful musician and song writer.
I really have to agree with you. Chris is definitely missed. He was also one of the most prolific guitarists and song writers in music. He followed his path and he's probably happy. I wish him nothing but the best in life. He left a mark in the music world and he truly touched me with his music. I have always been a Queensryche fan and I always will be. I've had the chance to meet the band and Chris was down to earth just like the rest of the band. I'm glad to see that you are a fan too.
I know. I miss him. He should return to music, start his own band or something. But apparently he's happy flying :( At least we can still listen to the good old stuff.
have you heard the band Dredg? they are a great band from Seattle that chris writes with, i am friends with his daughter and we went to a Dredg concert a few nights ago with chris and they are awesome so he hasn't totally left music :)
Hi! Due to personal stuff I wasn't able to respond ealier but I wanted to let you know that I really appreciate your comment. I will certainly check out Dredg and it's good to know Chris is still in the bizz. Maybe if you see him again you can thank him on my behalf for being such a great inspiration. All the best to you, cheers! :)

I agree wholeheartedly.
'ryche hasn't been the same since he left.
There are some highlights here and there, but nothing near what they used to be.
Frankly, considering the writing credits for much of their music during his time in the band, it's pretty clear how much of their sound came from him.

Is Chris a commercial pilot now? Such a great musician. An inspiring and humble man.
