I hope Snake still shows... because it's NEVER metal gear, unless he is a part of it in some way. Because Snake, will always be better than Raiden... period ;)
@renardo3333 this isnt a spinoff since it takes place between mgs2 and mgs4. a spin off, like metal gear acid and acid 2, are stories that does not involve the canon timeline. metal gear ghost babel could be considered a spin off, but it's more of a split timeline game(takes place after mg1 or mgs1, dont remember).
@EdwardHSoto But he doesn't need to actually be a Cyborg. He could have just kept the same personality from 4 as a human and actually given the game some believable relevance. Remember the MGS2 shell intro where his voice is all gritty to start with, whats wrong with going back to that? Like Olga in 2 Cyborg Raiden was just a reference to Grey Fox from 1. But if they are going to keep that design and expand it he is just plain ripping him off and undermining Fox's significance in the series.
u know why just a 30% of us is complaining about having Raiden as the main character again? cuz konami and kojima were smart they didnt overused solid snake as main character for this kind of consoles becuz lets face it, the same game, same plot, same characters over and over again would end in well a boring game but having Raiden makes this saga take a break for snake to use hime later again :D and dont worry snake is coming back cuz kojima sad: LIQUID WILL BE BACK SOMEDAY

The new cut system looks amazing, i do agree it's not Metal Gear without Snake, but raiden is getting more badass every game, not as badass as Snake.
And oh cmon' guys stop the console bashing, just be happy for each other, PS3 is getting Mass Effect 2, great game played on my Pc, pat on our back, Xbox gets MGS, pat on there back ^-^

What's with all complains? Gameplay isn't going to be quite similar as earlier (it's still stealth though) and protagonist isn't Solid Snake, it doesn't mean game is automaticly bad. Personally I'm open for new ideas Konami has in store for this game, too many of good new ideas gets killed by people who only want to feed nostalgia. And all of you who hate Raiden, it's just too bad for you but Kojima-sama and Konami staff seem to like him.

WOW Hideo Kojima knows how to make fantastic cutscenes. When i heard that a game about Raiden was coming i was and still am anxious to how the final product will be. WIll this totally ruin the MGS trademark? Or will it be successful? Obviously after seeing the ending of MGS4 this has to be the middle of Raidens adventures....Raiden is a very unique character and i hope that Kojima will make him unique still. Grey Fox>Raiden? Really neat, have to get it when it comes out!
What's with all complains? Gameplay isn't going to be quite similar as earlier (it's still stealth though) and protagonist isn't Solid Snake, it doesn't mean game is automaticly bad. Personally I'm open for new ideas Konami has in store for this game, too many of good new ideas gets killed by people who only want to feed nostalgia. And all of you who hate Raiden, it's just too bad for you but Kojima-sama and Konami staff seem to like him.

This game has nothing to do with snake so yo cant really expecting "stealth" on another level.. raiden has changed alot since mgs2.. hes quick...has a swrod, theres really no need fopr him to use stealth. although im sure itll be an option in game play. get real//. and keep in mind kojima had little to do with the consepts of this game.

WOW Hideo Kojima knows how to make fantastic cutscenes. When i heard that a game about Raiden was coming i was and still am anxious to how the final product will be. WIll this totally ruin the MGS trademark? Or will it be successful? Obviously after seeing the ending of MGS4 this has to be the middle of Raidens adventures....Raiden is a very unique character and i hope that Kojima will make him unique still. Grey Fox>Raiden? This game may just decide who is the better. I'm neutral by the way :D

@MegaMusicRemix How can you be so sure? There's really not that much gameplay footage when you think about it. After all, just because Raiden is using a sword doesn't mean he won't be possibly able to pick up guns and use them or have to sneak around.

The worst thing about this video is how at the end people "Woo" over the amount of stupidity this game offers. I knew this was going to be a Hack & Slash game, this trailer showed me I was right... I feel sad for this franchise.

u guys don't get it or? it is an mgs charakter but he's the complete oposite of old snake he change his body to be an war maschine a ninja just like grey fox in the first episode so it should be clear that hes not stalkin in places n stuff.
i think the idee is awesome because noboby knows why raiden did this an what happen between episode 2 and 4 an know kojima want to show this to us and walk new ways so be quite happy
