@EntustinMeYourLife I really should go through that second disc properly. Thanks for letting me know. :)
It's true. I grew up in the same area of Willowdale as they did. Alex went to my high school but was a few years ahead of me. He painted the mural on the band room wall which is still there.
That church where they played their first gig is actually where I went to nursery school when I was 5 or 6 years old. That same basement. :)
LOL!!! ;) i thought at one point as they were going through the church, they weren't gonna find their way out, like that part in This Is Spinal Tap where the guys can't find their way to the stage!
OMG!!! they joke about it, but it must've been a horrible thing to be bullied like that when they were kids! :( i lived next door to the neighborhood bully when i was growing up. it's such a bad thing, especially now. i mean, kids are killing themselves over this! i'm just glad these guys are still around to talk about it!
Geddy probably played it right ... just said, "Yeah, whatever" and then went on to front one of the most influential bands in the history of rock. There are "talkers" and "do-ers", and Geddy, Alex, and Neil are definitely the latter. I am a life-long Rush fan ... heard Moving Pictures when I was 12 and have been a fan ever since.
4:22 is that noise (or just before) the Church moaning because Geddy called it St Goofy or do roofs and load baring beams usually make that sound in areas that snow. Yes, I live in a sub-tropical region where snow only happens once every 20 years and almost never sticks.
I REALLY love Ray's "coffee sip" to get OUT OF THE SEGMENT around the 3:40 mark...Hahaa!!!!! How long was Geddy OUT of the band? Geddy simply mentions "the next thing I know, I get a phone-call from John Rutsey about 'please come back to the band.'"
I liked the Ray Daniels portion of the clip. I can't believe he threw Geddy out of the band. This must have been in the bonus features because I haven't watched them yet and don't remember a lot of this.
I know, right? What was Ray thinking?! Geddy was as important to the band as Alex and John (later to be replaced by Neil) were. Geddy's my favorite of the three. <3
This is from the bonus features, my friend. So is the portion detailing Geddy, Alex and Neil's hobbies. x]
I've missed you. *Looks up at you with large puppy dog eyes*
Glad to see how Alex and Geddy take us down memory lane.

This is part of the film's special features, on the second disc.
This is your old neighborhood? I envy you! Later in my life, I would love to move to Canada. ^^

They'd sneak into people's gardens at night and steal the lightbulbs from the lamps and then used them as lighting for a gig, that's a classic. LOL

lol! It was probably Alex's idea to build the snowman with the giant penis. That's South Park influence from Rush!

I love how Ray laughs nervously then in a classic subterfuge move reaches for a swig o' java. How's that crow tastin' Ray-Ray?

It's good to see two friends that have known each other for such a long time reminisce about their climb to the top. Unique for any band.

He he, they obviously made good use of their time despite the suburbs which have no charms to soothe the restless dreams of youth :)
