I haven't had the priviledge to see Love Letters yet. I don't think it is out on DVD and as far as I know TCM hasn't shown it. Does anyone know if this has come out on DVD yet?
Yes! I agree! She was a wonderful actress! Perhaps the best of her generation! Her beauty was legendary also. Is seldom to find so a wonderful mixture from talent and beauty!
My favorite JJ movie. It was available on tape--I have a copy. It does seem bizarre that it isn't offered in DVD format, considering the tons of pure swill out there. Though the plot isn't unique, the treatment by Ms. Rand is--and Jennifer is adorable.
I, too, wonder why "Love Letters" was never released commercially. I last saw it on AMC in 1997. I performed a couple of songs on my channel as a tribute to Jennifer ("Love Letters" [guitar solo] and "Got To Find Me Somebody To Love" (from "Duel In The Sun"). Will enjoy subscribing to your very literate channel. Love to have you post a comment/rating or two anent my attempts as a tribute to her and other past stars. Sorry to note your ratings and channel comments aren't active. Cordially, John
i adore this movie. it makes me crazy you can't get it. it's dark romance & wonderful atmospherics have always thrilled me. as a kid i was taken with singleton's charming, mysterious beauty. but as an adult i've discovered how many joseph cotten movies are among my favorites! i even loved that dear gladys cooper got to redeem herself to me, after frightening me in Song Of Bernadette. thank you thank you for this clip, & the opportunity to voice my opinion w/ the studio.
She starred in a number of David O. Selznick films (and eventually married him). I often thought of her as America's Vivien Leigh. Gorgeous woman (and I hope she will be around many more years, she is one of the last great leading ladies of the Golden Era of Hollywood).

Truly she was as sensual as Marylin later. I remember her
first appearence with Gregory Peck -they were both new
artists- in 1954 (?) Duel in The Sun. She was a fantastic
actress ! A beautiful woman .

I am considering of doing a 'remake' adapted to the 1945 version
it will chatroom base instead of written letters,
still the madness will be there , the amnesiac killer who kill without any knowledge of who she is
I am calling for audition , are you keen to sing on the movie soundtrack , John ?
The title of the movie is call ' SINGLETON ' based on the main main character
I am calling for audition !
