  • "This if footage"? Shouldn't that say "This is footage"?

  • So, this is the music that plays when I win?

    Awesome.

  • MegaMan 3's password music is so under rated... I swear, there was something about that tune that just made you feel... magical and smarter, lol. No joke though. Kinda reminds me of the classic video game called Casino Kid, I loved that game too.

  • Haha, backwards MM3 password theme. Also, thanks for linking to my video. :)

  • This is a cool tribute.

When compsing Mega Man style music, one really needs to think about composing from a harmonic and melodic basis. When listening to your tracks, it's hard to hear the underlying harmony.

Not saying your music is bad...on the contrarary, some of your tracks are epic...but as it concerns Capcom style Mega man tracks...it needs to be extremely melodic and harmonic. There are times where I can't decipher what chords are sounding in your tracks...a mega man no no imo

  • i just think Game Over YYYYEAAAAAAAAAHHH when i hear this

  • I DIED ARRRRRGGGGHHHHH!!!

    Listens to game over theme*

    ok i feel better.

  • Like it, not bad at all! =)

    Good work dude!

  • Game over, man! Game over!

This is more like "Oh well, life goes on".

  • Not a bad song, though it has a lot of high-pitched sounds going on. Still, it is memorable, and I think it has a nice upbeat sound to it and could also be used as a PW/save theme.

  • I think this would make for a good password cue instead of a cue for "GAME OVER." I love my game over cues to really sound like that you failed, a la MM2 and MM4

  • pick a new one it isnt to good no offense

  • Yeah, it's pretty good, but you may want to change the bassline a bit.

Besides that, a nice theme :)

  • wow. at least the music will calm down the player and maybe make him/her not punch the monitor.

  • That was Jet Man's stage, wasn't it? It's looking pretty good from what I'm seeing here. It reminds me of the Special Stage from Mega Man 9, as well as the city that was shown during the intro and title screen of Mega Man 2.

As for the Game Over music, I think it sounds good. Keep up the good work.

  • it doesn't sound like a typical MM game over music.

  • I think the main melody is nice but it needs to be fleshed out more. I don't really like the bassline or the second melody that much.

  • I like this very much. It's relaxing and gives me some hope in case I die...

    which I probably will...

    A LOT.

  • this will play when i Will lose at YokuMan's Stage multiple times

  • I vote this as final version of Game Over theme.

  • i 2nd

  • I like this theme a lot. Fump those who say it's bad.

  • Wow, I loved that city stage at 0:05. About the Game Over theme, it sounds like the loser player can think twice before play the stage again without seriousness.

  • Me and StarsimsUniverse just noticed something about the game over screen there....

There's no 'Continue' option. Maybe in the actual game, we should include a continue option? Because right now, it's just a bit silly to leave out this part, having to go back to stage select then back to the stage you were on. X_X

  • I just re-used the footage from RainbowMan's stage video from way back.

Yes, there should be a continue option. ^_^

  • I like it.

  • I like it! One quesiton: What stage was that? Tankman?

  • Jet Man's stage,

  • No offense but to be honest, I hate it. Dosent fit Mega Man at all!

  • @badchaddd it sounds like its from mm3

  • Wow, I guess everyone who commented here never heard of the words "Megaman 3 - Game over/password screen"

It wasn't dark and depressing and it is the most notable, favored, and god-like song that ever was in Megaman (Other than Yan's MM10 stage select)

Really, you people need to go Youtube "Megaman 3 Game Over" and get enlightened, cuz yeah, its the best damn thing ever.

My Peeve with this song, it ain't very Megmany. Feels like I'm playing a sgrocery store game, or a retro throwback.

  • dude... the mm3 game over theme was shit, there's no way in hell it's the best mm game music

the "most notable, favored, and god-like song" that was ever in megaman was wily 2 in mm2, and most people would not dispute that (it's actually not my favorite, but it's definitely the most legendary)

  • It's all a matter of opinion.

But yeah, MM3's Password song is pretty awesome. And it does sound happy and a bit out of place. But that's what makes it great. ^_^

  • My post meant to say one of the most. I'm perfectly aware that too many people got out of hibernation when MM2 came out and praised all of its songs, but I don't feel Wilys stage is the best song.

Theres no way to candy-coat this, so you are just a jackass, plain and simple. Sure people have their opinions, and people may not like the song, or like it a bit, but to call it shit?

It is just such a song that would be pretty damn hard to have someone so adverse to it, but whatever.

  • lol calm down, I just think the thing is stupid (not because it's happy or whatever, but because it grates on my ears and sounds erratic), so why can't I call it shit? while I'm there, I might as well say pop music and rap are shit too, does that make me more of a jackass?

I'm not trying to get anyone to change anything, and I'm not going to throw mm3 or mm10 down in anger because of these themes, so I don't see how "this is shit" is different than "I dislike this"

  • Haha, well "I dislike this" is like a wound, "This is shit" is like throwing salt in the wound.

I just can't imagine any Megaman fan to not like that song. Thats the connective part there. If you don't like MM I could see it, not otherwise though.

Well, you can shout it from the rooftops, I fucking hate pop and rap too, that stuff is SHIT. :)

  • I guess it just has no nostalgia value for me because I never game over'd because I'm just that badass >:)

  • Haha, you're even that deadly that you did it all with one sitting and didn't have to use the password screen. (same song, for those who just joined us)

Eh, all Megaman songs are great anyways, no need to pick.

  • I think it could start kinda angry and then go to a happier song like that, so it ends up, "YOU SUCK! Would you like to continue?"

  • Too happy to be a GAME-OVER screen. It would fit perfectly as a little cut-scene or something, kinda like that of a side-plot.

Seriously, though, for a game-over screen, aim for something darker.

  • Sorry, but...

the music sound like an intermission, a loading screen, a CONTINUE?-screen - but not like a GAME OVER!

  • I understand it's based off the ones you're inspired from and whilst I'm with you on that it's a good song.. it's a little "too" happy sounding.

  • I know you're trying for this to be like MM3, but this still seems too happy. It's not bad, just too happy. Keep up the good work.

  • I have to agree with WhamBamm, it does sound a little too happy, almost annoying, but it is well done.

  • Lalla-lalla-lah you're dead

    Lalla-lalla-lah ha-ha.

    :D Love it.

  • I agree that it's a bit too happy

    but it's still great :)

  • not bad, but i think its a little too jubilant, but i guess its almost in a way that the evil robots are dancing over megamans smoldering remains, so i suppose its ok.

  • Hmm, I think it's unfitting to the game's other style.

  • that's ok

  • It's a pleasant, peppy little tune, I must say.

I think it'll calm down frustrated players, don't you think? ;)

  • Yes, like the ones from MMX1 or MM3.

  • I think it will irritate them, "You died, IN YOUR FACE, LOSER!"

  • groovy

  • Oh man I can't wait! This music makes me want to lose!

  • sounds like it could use a bit of an intro to it,but other than that, i like it :D

  • Whoa.. was that jet man's stage?

  • I think Jet Mans stage was the one with the airfield on the background.

  • Hm. It works.

  • I love it! While it is nostalgic, it also reflects that cheer from Mega Man 3's Password/Game Over screen. I think the main melody could be a little catchier, though. Anyhow, I certainly wouldn't mind dying to this music ^_^

(P.S. The song in the background at the 00:04 second mark is about 26 seconds into Jet Man's song! X^D)

  • Hé hé yeah you're right. I wanted to make a little intro before the song so I made this very quickly.

  • To reply to one of the comments here.

It's very unlikely that Capcom will ever accept fan game projects to get published. For one thing, it's only Capcom of Japan that handles all game designs. Capcom of America has nothing to do with making games as far as I know. Translations maybe. But anyways, I doubt they need any more programmers, as I doubt they are doing any sort of hiring anyway.

It's VERY RARE to see a fan game get published by any big gaming company. I doubt it'll happen.

  • I just hope Capcom finds this so they can get this published and you could get royalties on it man I bet this took a while!! I wonder if Capcom would hire you after you show them this that would be cool.

  • I like it, MegaPhil!

It's a little euphoric, in my opinion. Something about it just seems so nice and it's like it's saying, "Yeah, you just died, but everything is still alright." =)

  • Like MM3 ( :

  • Nice game over music. Very nice indeed.

  • *Nods*

  • LMAO @ 0:04 - 0:07 XD

  • Phil, question?

what'smore viable to use, famitracker, or FL Studio + Chiptunes???

  • I don't know much about FL Studio but it looks easier to use than Famitracker...

  • It is, for me at least.

  • FL Studio, ALL the way. Get it, then google NES VSTi synths.

It takes ages to do anything with Famitracker... :P

  • Having both, I would have to say if your looking for just NES chiptunes, Famitracker is the way to go, its easier to get an authentic sound, you can create NSF files, all that good stuff. Plus its free! But FL studio is completely different, in the sense that it isn't tracker based, but pattern, and piano roll based, and its not really meant for making chiptunes with. Plus its pricey. But if your looking for things other than chiptunes, FL is the way to go!

  • Yeah, Famitracker is free and it makes authentic nes sounds. But I think it's a bit more difficult to figure out. Also, I find that it can be difficult to mess with the tempo of your song. you really have to figure out the right tempo AS you start making the song. If you mess with it after that, the software isn't flexible at all. : P (NailMan's Stage is giving me headaches because of that.)

  • I like it, how's game progress coming along? I wanna play. lol.

  • Sounds pretty nice MegaPhil! Your turning out to be a great little composer!

  • Thanks ^_^
