  • They're finally opening an Ulta in Mankato--thank god! I'll check there and online. Girl, I cut my hair short once, and I DO NOT LOOK GOOD with hair above my shoulders--I look like a chubby 12 year old boy. I'm not kidding.

  • @dullard5000 yay! I would check online, you will probs get a better price there I think. well with 50lbs gone a short cut may be a winner this time!

  • Hey sweetie! I'm glad you talked about this--it's a really common side effect of weight loss, surgery or not...I'm only down 50 pounds, and have now gone vegan, and for sure have noticed my hair getting thinner and I'm shedding like crazy. I'm terrified of cutting my hair though. Where do you get those hair products?

  • @dullard5000 whoa, bravo! 50lbs is AMAZING! honestly, i would suggest a good hack. lol. I was so terrified of cutting my hair and once I got it cut I was so happy with it. I'd like to go shorter! You can probs find Nioxin at Ulta, or at a salon. I get mine at the warehouse as I still have my cosmo license. I do know that a lot of salons do carry it though, so I'd make a few calls. I also know you can easily order it online, too!!!

  • My reason for the surgery is to try and help me set a good example for my children. I want to be able to run around and play with them.... Not sit back and watch because I am too uncomfortable in my own skin!!! I am in my early 30's and if I don't do something I won't be around to watch my kids grow up.... I have high blood pressure already!!! Sheesh... but my insurance company is sure dragging their feet!! LOL. It has taken me 7 months to complete all the pre-reqs.....

  • @MzWicked11 It sounds like you're doing this for the right reasons, just hang in there. the insurance game can be very frustrating, I know! it will all be worth it though :)

  • Wow, that was a fast response!! LOL. My family and most of my friends are super supportive but for some reason, I get a weird vibe from a couple of my friends. I think its because they have tried to have the surgery but for some reason their insurance won't cover it. I know as I lose weight that the dynamics are going to change. You are so right... my life has revolved around food for sooo long!!!! I am looking forward to a change! I am told I will have my surgery by the end of the year.

  • @MzWicked11 ha! it's primetime as I'm catching up on my youtube stuff! :) I think some friends may be afraid for you even, or maybe it is a reality check for them. I dunno. what you're about to embark on is major and life changing. That freaks people out in a lot of ways. Change can be a very scary thing. I've learned to just face it head on and take stock of what I can control. some of that other stuff is just out of your hands. I am excited for you. That surgery day will come quickly!

  • @halfthegirlmaris Well, then I timed my comments just right!! LOL. Sorry to bother you with all the questions but I am just trying to make sure I have all the information I am curious about.... Have you ever had any issues with Dumping Syndrome? Were there any foods that made you sick? Was the hunger overwhelming or does the protein shakes, and small meals keep you satisfied??

  • Thanks for the response!! Just curious.... I have a couple of friends who are big (like me) and when I told them I was going to have GB surgery their attitude towards me changed. Have you noticed any changes like that with your friends?? Also, I remember you saying in a previous video that when you looked into the mirror you still saw the same person as before... has that changed now that you are over the year mark?? I look forward to speaking with you!!

  • @MzWicked11 You're very welcome! I haven't noticed any negative responses from friends, all have been supportive. The dynamics of some of those friendships does change though as you realize how much of your time spent together was spent eating! lol. People find joy in food, I celebrated with food, so it made me see how much more there was to these friendships other than being social and indulging. I still see the old me, very often :/ I am down 168lbs and still see a 350(+!!)lb person.

  • @MzWicked11 I have my moments where I can feel "thin", but in my mind I'm no where being thin. I really have to stress that it takes a very long while for the psychological effects of massive weight loss to balance out. I have gone from a size 28 (a very snug 28) to a 14 (getting loose 14), and in my head I sometimes think "they must be making these 14's massive sized now" hahaha! It's all an adjustment, and honestly I refer to a lot of my old videos for a moment of clarity/reality of who I was.

  • Hello, I have watched almost all of your videos and they have been very helpful!! I am going to be having surgery soon and like to know what I am in for. I look forward to hearing more from you next week!! LOL.

  • @MzWicked11 I'm glad you enjoy the videos--I enjoy making them! best of luck with your surgery :) x
