I took the exact same cart, cut off the rear and mounted the front to a garden tracter with a 22hp engine. I just stripped down the tractor to the frame and engine, turned it 180 degrees with the engine in back.

@sayer308 It may be a late comment, but I have a similar frame with a 5 hp motor on it, and it has WAY too much torque for the little thing. 3 hp is all you can safely put on it without the chain coming off every 20 minutes...

its not the motor as much as rpms and gearing, the power just affects acceleration, so theoretical is you had like a 1/8th hp motor (even though thats almost impossible) it would get up to speeds of whatever with the right gears, course it'd take a reeeealy long time to get there

but it does have to have enough horse power to overcome wind resistance at high speeds-like the bugati it only take about 30 hp to get it going but when it reaches 230 mph its using like 800 of its horsepower-ps it has a 1000hp-if you play grand turismo 4 and mess with the gear ratios in a civic with no power you will find out
