  • Montar com a cabeça do cavalo encapotada está na moda mas é prejudicial à saúde do cavalo e nao serve para nada fora a humiliaçao da creatura e um controle fácil mas medíocre pelo cavaleiro.

    Say NO to Rollkur!

  • the rider is too stiff in her lower half in walk, allow the horse to rock your hips and let your body flow with the horses movement, every time a horses hind leg touches the floor their spine raises and lowers once the foot is off the ground, there for the horses spin is going up and down, your bottem half is very solid which will be uncomfertable for the horse and restrict movement of the limbs and spine, if you rock your hips with the movement of the horse you will feel the spine

  • moving, this also frees the horses spine allowing him/her to move better and feel better, picture you lifting your hand up and down n have one hand above it stopping the hand thats moving from going up right, imagine this is you on your

  • horses back and then try giving way to your hand moving up and let the restricting hand move up a little when the moving hand touches it, which feels better to you? once you do this you will have a better understanding of how your horse feels under you. =] hope this helped

  • shes not really rough on his mouth but she shouldn't be asking him to travel in that headset.

  • Aaaaaaaaaghhhhhhh!!!!!

Absolutely disgusting!! Someone should drag her off that poor horse!!!!!!!

  • hideous, absolutely hideous-horse is completely strung out, disconnected and looks unsound behind. if this is the cost of competitive dressage then it aint worth it.

as for the prat who suggested Lusitanos were no good as dressage horses, sound like you sat on one once and couldnt ride one side of it :-) still, if you dont ride one again its certainly their gain-if only we could stop this bint from riding them too!

  • Anyone riding at 'this level' should have a basic knowledge of anatomy and physiology, and therefore should appreciate the horrendous damage that this disgusting method has on the horse. Clearly this woman is extremely ignorant on both counts.

  • Ughhh Rolkur, disgusting practice and hugely detrimental to the horse both physically and mentally.

  • Totally agree with you. There's no excuse for using Rolkur, it doesn't benefit the horse in any way and, as you say, is actually detrimental :<

  • I wonder if you (killbrour, vicky..) have ever ridden at this level with a horse.. I don't think you would be saying the same things. Do you seriously think that the horse would be doing these things for her, if he wasn't happy?? She doe'nt have a constant presure on the reins! Imke is obviously a very good rider, who is very gentle in approaching a horse she doesn't even know yet.

Please don't judge others if you're not in the position that you are able to judge them...

  • I absolutely agree.

I think NOBODY here has ever ridden on Grand Prix level. And its quite weird, because the riders who use 'rollkur' are at the top of dressage....

  • The bit is forcing the tongue to the bottom of the mouth and at the same time the head is forced down to the chest. This is abusive and cruel.

  • Poor Rollkur- horse

  • the saddle prob smell like her ass

  • Dear Gawd! Stop with the Rollkur all ready. The horse is on his forehand and strung out behind! Why are you using a double when he is still fighting contact? Also the dripping slobber means he can't swallow due to ROLLKUR!This is not correct training at all!

  • i will take this video out if this stupid discussion wont stop!

  • I took lunge lessons to improve my seat you lousy bugger, thats what many good riders do, so they can concentrate on their seat. Put up some vids of your riding before you go on. When you see a classically well trained lusitano, they are IN FRONT of the vertical, and the rider has to have the feeling for whether he's just rolling up or really collected. :P

  • so why aren't ya riding a "great" lusitano then??? ah anyway no point arguing with a moron... I liked what Imke said in the video, doesn't mean that I support everything that she does in it... ¬_¬ God how I hate close-minded limited ppl...

  • Of course you couldn't understand that... this is so typical of young students that still know nothing and keep on annoying everyone just cos they think they "know" something... come and talk when you've left the lunge and the school pony, girl! ^_^

  • since when do riders stop horses through "touching them" with the reins?! Simply bad riding on a high level if you ask me.

She's disturbing him rather than helping him with the reins.

  • Of course she does rollkur, she's Dutch!!! In spite of that, I really liked what she said... And even though she's trying to hyperflex the horse, there's not much else she can do with a Lusitano. They're all like this, shortnecked and bulky and with that awful sewing machine trot, so if they lower their head they'll always be hyperflexed... they're shitty horses, I don't know why all the fuss about them when even arabians are better for dressage.

  • What da F*** are you talking about?! Spanish horses can very well be ridden long and low and in a nice stretch which develops a nice collection after a while. Its just cuz people who think they can ride buy spanish horses cuz they have a huge neck, pull them together and call it collection. You have so no idea, dude!

  • Ya I have "soooo no idea dude" hahaha but it was you who didn't get the point. I wasn't talking about riding long and low; I was talking about not having much choice when the horse is in the normal riding position, if it's a lusitano they'll always appear behind the bit, cos they are shortnecked (most of the time).

  • yes, you might be right, I agree about the fact that lusitano's and PRE's will never be top dressage horses (even if I adore them and ride them regularly), but still, think abou the way you express yourself, please. If you call any horse shit you are a disgrace to the horse world itself.

  • Piaffage, I actually dont agree with you. The Lusitano and PRE horses have always been the ones with more ability to the collection exercises (piaffer, passage) and the new type of lusitano is showing great potential with the forward movements. Portugal already has a team of dressage riders who only ride Lusitano horses on their competitions, and one of them has qualified for Las Vegas. Dressage was thought for the German type of horse, but in a couple of years you'll see ;)

  • Good point, I agree that saying 'never' might have been a strong word to use, but even if the lusitano's are advancing, so are the german horses. They do indeed have a higher ability for collection, but the power output of a collected German horse is far larger (at the moment), due to physicial traits. Most Spanish horses have a small disadvantage of the rear legs.

  • And thats where you are wrong. The Lusitano's and PRE's power comes from the hind legs, wich allows them to perform the cabriole or the levade, for e.g;the only disadvantage they have is that their hand are too tight together, meaning they find it quite hard to adapt to the forward movement required for dressage.

  • These horses have a lot of power in their hindlegs, and thats what allows them to perform advanced movements-called "ares altos"-as cabrioles, levades and such.

  • Never the less, they are shorter in hight and leight with makesn it quite hard for them to perform the suspended trot, for example. But theres no horse better on the collection exercises as these horses, or at least the horses with this kind of features.

  • @YamiNoPri Ahhh... ever heard of horses like Fuego xii ??? Who score is the 80% ?? You talk some shit ae...

  • OH MY GOD. that horse is being ridden totally wrong according to what i have been taught.

  • such an amazing rider!

She may be next best rider of the world!

  • Why does the rider ride the horse with the nose so mutch in under the neck? Instead of vertical as its suppose to be when a horse works correct with the backmuscles.

  • This is Imke Schellekens Bartels a Rider of the Dressage team of the Netherlands. It´s her way to train horses - you can see the horse tries to escape and doesn´t like it. He hasn´t got a chance... There were many critics from German riders about that. You could see more about that, if you look for hyperflexion at the search.

  • Well it was horrible riding i must say...

  • is it rollkur what she is doing?

  • my eyes have gone a bit fuzzy from hayfever but i think i can see that the horse isnt tracking up and she is already asking for flexion and not only that but it is way too much

  • Yes, it´s Rollkur.. -.-

    And you´re so right speckehtokt.
