I'm a 13 year old girl, and I LOVE this show. I used to watch it constantly when I was little(r). Just proof that it doesn't matter how old a show is, or how old a viewer is, good shows can still be popular.
I always thought that Pop Larkin was a 1950's Countryside version of Del Boy as as both characters do share similar personalities. The only difference is that Pop Larkin is a 1950's rural large family man who is very devoted to them with a steady working class income whilst Del Boy is a urban modern day Batchelor having to take care of his two relatives and selling non dangerous dodgy merchandise and getting into non dangerous dodgy dealings to earn some form of money to make ends meet.
I also remember seeing Philip Franks in the first ever episode on ITV3 and then seeing him in Heartbeat the next day!
Does anyone know where I can find the second part of the episode 'The Best Days of our Lives'? I was out when that episode was on then went to watch it on IPlayer but it just kept playing adverts over and over again! If anyone can help I would be deeply grateful. Thank you x
am hoping this is the episode where Ma asked what people want to eat, and they all come up with something different, and she just shrugs and says "as long as I know" and proceeds to make everything. I always get hungry with I read the books.
It's an old Yank troop transport truck left there after the war. As flash as Yanks are, I don't think they went to the expense of changing which side the steering wheel was on in every country they occupied. Sorry not occupied, I mean fought in during WWII. We had lots of gear from both Jerry and Yank scattered around the place after the war. A farmer down the road from us discovered two complete Messerschidmts and loads of ammo in the side of the hill. :o)o:

I enjoyed this programme when first shown. However i have a question - why are they driving a left hand vehicle in England?

I saw this when it was first shown in 1991. One question - why do they have left hand drive vehicle in an English setting@

This is one of the few TV shows to be better than the books that it was based on! :) I love the Darling Buds, thanks for posting!
