  • Wished they ported this exactly as is to Console like they did in Midway Arcade Treasures 3 with Rush The Rock. Hell it should've been added in Midway arcade Treasures 3!

  • NICE run. almost lost it at the end there :P

  • is ps2 ?

  • I have the tournament edition ROM, does anyone know how to emulate it? I NEED to play this track!

  • @xD4v31234567 Uhm, MAME?

  • @bluephreakr Have you gotten it to work? I have the rom for tournament edition.

  • @xD4v31234567 Never had. I have the CHD file, the ROM image, and I try to run it in SDL Mame via GMAMEUI (Linux stuff) and it fails.

Found the ROM with CHD on EmuParadise, BTW, if that helps.

  • the music for this track is amazing, why did you disable it?

Anyway, I beaten this track by coming in 1st. im becoming an expert on this game.mI been practicing a lot.

  • is the arcade version?

  • Can you get the truck in this game? I always tried to unlock but never did. I like the way it leans into turns and leans forward off a ramp.

  • This was my favorite game for N64. Best racing game ever, hands down! Is there any way to play this track with emulators yet? I'd probably kill just to play a few laps..

  • Excellent driving. I was the Art Director on this puppy. This was the best game i ever worked on, so many great memories. Thanks for posting this!!

  • @Neberkenezer Well you did an excellently suberb job designing the graphics for this game.

  • @Neberkenezer hey, from everyone who ever played it.

    thanks mate, we love you

  • WTF no wings? :{

  • @xLightningWolFx The wings are only on the actualy console versions of this game. The original arcade version of this did not contain the stunt wings

  • Anyone else hate the fact there has never been true versions of either Rush the Rock or 2049? Both Rush games on Midway Arcade Treasures sucked so badly, I hated the music on San Fran Rush: The Rock, in Midway Arcade Treasures. what the hell happened to the music, it was horrible. In my opinion the best version of Rush the Rock was the N64 version even though it didn't have the same graphics. At last it controlled and sounded like RUSH, and the graphics were good enough for the N64.

  • 0_0 that was.......Ownage skils....and OWNAGE driving..everything was OWNAGE..specially when you OWNED that train :D

  • did they ever make the Tourney edition for a consol or platform other than the arcade?

  • No!

  • Good. Thats the way it should be.

  • I would've liked it if they could have released both versions on the Midway Arcade Treasures 3 compilation. This tracks looks like a lot of fun. They butchered the other one from the looks of it.

  • Yeah this looks nothing like the DC version. This one looks alot more fun.

  • I WISH I COULD HAVE THE TE EDITION =´O

  • @Kry0nz

    SE is the same thing.

  • @Tiamat583 No, more cars :(. Not to mention I heard there was different physics etc. For a fan like me, it's way much more...

  • @Kry0nz

There wasn't that many units of the TE editon, so I prefer the SE edition, it offers the same exact fun as the original and TE combined with new content, and im a huge fan of the rush series.

So I prefer SF rush 2049 special edition, its really the best version of the arcade racer of the same name.

  • oh my god you're a freakin bot! lol damn fine job at this.

  • oh.. realmente veo que juegas muy bien... felicitaciones... aca en argentina no tube la oportunidad de jugar al rush en esta version...

  • yes BEEZLEBuB you are the devil. That was fuckin insane. i mean im good but not that good. I wish i had the fuckin 2 seater arcade in the crib to smoke and play in all day.......

  • oh man i love this rush version

  • Excellent! This car this was used on this version with the default color (orange) was cool! On the N64 and Dreamcast Version, the car was called "Panther".

  • I really like the part at 0:11 like this: robotic sounds

    RUSSSSSSSSSHHHHH!!!!!!!!!! sounds continue.

  • sick

  • Dude this game is so ez to kick people butts in!

  • man man, what a ride ! own a rush 2049 SE myself , but most practice a lot more !

    Greetings from belgium

  • You are one hell of a confident racer in this game! You must have used the steering wheel for those smooth turns. I have never seen a better driver than you before.

  • Of course he used the steering wheel, what else could he drive with?

  • A dream cast controller

  • Why would you hook a dreamcast controller to an arcade machine...?

  • To do some sweet controlling!!!

  • lolwut

  • Yeah! Thats PRO STYLE (TM)

  • Total perfection.

  • darkshadow512, what emulator is it?

and NOTE:try to be nice this time

  • hes probably using project 64. Hes not using the arcade version because mame can't support it and he mentioned "wing"s which are only in the console versions.

  • Trust me, this isn't the 64 version. You couldn't choose Rush 2 cars on the 64 version.

  • yea, I was replying to darkshadows comment, on his game. The video above is the arcade version

  • Opps, Sorry man. :)

  • This game IS badass. I have downloaded an emulated version of this. So I can play it on my computer. Graphics are surprisingly really good.

I would recommend downloading it. I remember the old rush games when you couldn't use the wings. That pissed me off.

  • Since when are there seven tracks? There are 6 in the regular Rush 2049....I'd love to see what the new track is! Wait, did they remake the Alcatraz level or something? I seem to remember something like that.

  • Has anybody seen the special edition? I would like to see it because 10 more cars and 2 more tracks.

  • yea. i seen the special edition. they have it at the laundry down the street from my house. i go there jus to play it.

  • How are the 2 new tracks and cars? I was looking for one o play but just cant find it.

  • The 2 extra tracks are just tracks 5(Mission) and 6(Presidio) from the Nintendo 64 and Dreamcast ports of San Francisco Rush 2049. They have been altered somewhat, however, so the experience isn't 100% identical. Some shortcuts have been altered/added/removed, but the general track layout is the same, except that Mission's start/finish line has been relocated where the water is.

  • Oh I thought they were completley new tracks. Oh ok. Well thank you for the information. Still gotta love the arcade experience. (If we still had arcades.)

  • Sweet, looks like they have a Hot Rod! Also, I just found out that the car this guy chose looked like a McLaren

  • Plus midway's "L.A RUSH" was total bullshit. They ruined this game's legend by releasing that hack of a game. Sure it was "snazzy" but it missed the whole Rush Spirit. Rush is an arcade game and was never meant to be a plotline game.

  • @RussianCivilian I totally agree with you man, LA Rush didn't even have any wings on the cars. This Rush 2049 is my fav game for the n64 and is truly the greatest racing game that has ever existed!

  • @RussianCivilian LA RUSH is not a Rush game, and should never be considered as such.

  • @wooterz i agree, man. I wouldn't even call it a "game" really. Its just a hulking piece of trash that nobody remembers. Good thing, too. Worst ever.

  • @RussianCivilian I agree. I bought the game expecting to an modernized class arcade racer like the above, but instead got another wannabe Fast and Furious clone. I have Need for Speed for that department...

  • Damn fucking straight long live Rush!!! This gae is LEGEND!!!

  • google 'starbase arcade gallery' to view our high scores chart. Most are world records.

can't post URL's here it seems

  • This video was captured at Starbase arcade during the MTN tournaments way back in 2000. No one had the skills to drive it in extreme at the time.

I set the world record 3-4 years ago with 4'33"0xx

with extreme. This game was truly awesome and way ahead of it's time. Long live Rush!

  • Comment removed

  • Did you really record this in the year 2000?

  • Rush 2049 is an awesome racer--one of the top three ever made (right up there with California Speed, also by Midway, and Burnout Revenge). But I never knew about the Tournament Edition! Where could I find it for the Dreamcast?

...Excellent run, by the way. You've practiced well. ^_^

  • ahhhh... the good ole days of MTN and tournament edition.

a solid run in advanced, though i remember pulling 4'34"xxx in extreme... insanely tough track to run in extreme in the arcade.

  • check out the world record times in twin galaxies video game pinball guide

  • check starbase arcades records in twin galaxies video and pinball world records

  • Damn, what version of the game is this? The engine sounds retarded.

  • this is rush 2049 tournament edition it was only avaiable to a few arcades as a test but this version led to the special edition

  • Sweet. I noticed they changed this map completely, I wonder if they did that with the other levels too.

  • You don't set records on advanced =p But still nice to see some one play.

  • That's an insane driving-run o.O!

But what ersion of the game is this?

    Because it's not the N64-version.

  • I do so wish the video quality was not so warbly... awesome run!

  • very sick...

  • Nice driving

  • Hello,is this the special edition arcade version please ?
