looking for a wireless wifi camera to attach onto a helicopter facing straight down, while getting live footage from the helicopter through an IPOD app or laptop... any help???
nice vid. another approach is attaching a lighter cam to one of those flying fish using some kind of special glue or double sided tape. it might not be as good but I think they can run for about 20 mins before a recharge is needed.
@robbie2737 Ebay just type (Keyring Cam) take a little time to such as prices are difftrent prices some $15 some $5 like i said and there great quality to Check them out
hi im looking a cam that gives live feed. i want this so i can see where other ppl are in field pellet gun fight do you know where i can find one of these? (there is one on the black ops rc xd car) plz reply
What you should try leokim is get a BB gun and shoot the heli while its in the air.maybe even a pellet spring rifle too see if it can take good damage.
@EpicRnT i like your thinking here but where i live the gun laws are so tight you can't do any of that anymore, one of the BIG differences between the USA and Australia is gun laws
@leokimvideo gun laws are pretty tight in britan too but we can still use BB guns. Luckily i live on a farm with atleast 180 acres of land so i got lots of space to do it with a legal gun or BB without harming any one by sound or anything.
I'm pretty sure you could up the power of the motor so it can lift the camera without much reduction of weight this would probably be costly which would make it harder to keep under $100.
@drigonizer I see there are mods which can be done on the net, and they cost. One thing I failed to point out is with this helicopter once you do strip the weight off and don't install a camera it flies like a rocket, in fact it's scary just how fast it can ascend. It seemed pretty stable as well as I though maybe the weight was there to give it some balance.
@ninjakio930 you will need a US tuber to answer this, both items are for sale online, the apache is now a newer model but if you look around carefully the old model can still be found for a very good price
@BeanMeister22 I will have to admit this chopper is quite stable, that 4 channel alloy framed chopper which I have up as a prize is actually a little tricky to fly
What impresses me most is just how crash-proof your Apache chopper was. I've always found helicopters sexy... think I feel a new hobby obsession coming on!
@videowilliams when i purchased the second model about 2 weeks ago it was very cheap as there is now a new version of this rc helicopter, i can't speak on how robust the new model is but it does look like they have reduced the overall weight. lets hope it still has the robustness i found in my old converted model which is around 3 years old now.
@leokimvideo I had one of them Im not sure how much it was but it wasnt cheap I was flying it then I tried to land it, it kind of left in pieces, Then I got another one for about the same price and crashed it in a tree. I dont even know how to use RC helicopters.
The crash looks like the the camera was mounted under neath and went into a roll. With the camera at the bottom, it made a centrifugal force happen to make it spin wildly.
@w4rr10r11 once I get the crash reel up you will see this chopper always had issues coming down, it literally got the death shudders, a few times it fell like a brick and somehow bounced back without a issue, i found this model to be super tough
@w4rr10r11 on camera positions I found the underneath position seemed to be the most stable, but if the camera started to swing around ( and this was before I added the gaffa tape to stop swing) funny things would start to occur, especially when I powered off.
@OffTrackProductions i woud love a wireless feed, all this was to prove you could marry up two really cheap things to make something sort of cool.
the camera is robust but the picture quality is so so, it really worked better in overcast days, bright sunshine or extreme contrast would have it rendering some shocking results
dare say thats what you get with a auto everything cheap thing
Its no surprise that park looked empty on the video, the only things not prohibited are walking, talking, running, breathing, humans, and helicopters which turn on their pilots!
@jeremiahjw does it have a metal housing, this camera was trashed and still works in the crashes which are still to be posted, i'm pretty sure anything plastic would have been smashed by my noobish flying
The thing I like most in this vid was your steady cam system.
I know a few people who have really wanted the SteadyCam rig, to help with thier shots, but was a bit out of reach. Your rig looks like a very inventive way to get arround this :)
@martin0mac2000 i'm reluctant to do a video on camera tips and tricks as it seems to be such a sluggish subject on the tube, deep down i'm pretty serious about making little things to improve the use of everyday video cameras but I feel it would be a waste of time posting videos on this subject, seems youtube is all about rough and ready and production values are not the big picture here
my most popular videos are nearly all hand held rough shot stuff!
@leokimvideo Not for tube vids. these guys are amateur video guys, and have blown i have no clue how much into cameras and bits and peices. most likely combined its in the reigion of $25k!
Really awesome vid on how to make a spy helicopter. Would be interesting to take a helicopter out and film the surrounding area, or even make some good film shots on a low budget ^^ Great work once again Leo!
Great vid :) If you run the footage from the cam through a deshaker filter in virtualdub you will end up with a shake free spy heli, footage from them looks great!
how would you make it have a a live video feed?
