  • how would you make it have a a live video feed?

  • cool beens

  • looking for a wireless wifi camera to attach onto a helicopter facing straight down, while getting live footage from the helicopter through an IPOD app or laptop... any help???

  • Our computers count.

  • nice vid. another approach is attaching a lighter cam to one of those flying fish using some kind of special glue or double sided tape. it might not be as good but I think they can run for about 20 mins before a recharge is needed.

  • I like your vid. fast and to the point

  • Try using that hot wheels camera car it looks light and pretty cheap and im sure it can take a beating.

  • Cool

  • i dont think rc helicopters normally go into tail spins like that even in windy conditions

  • The sign said: no hitting bikes into other circles with golfclubs.

  • :D AWSOME

  • 0:24 i am good at controlling a heli

  • Use a wireless recording webcam? Light weight, you can see the live footage and it records your flying

  • for $5 you could get a Keyring Cam 10X better and 5Xsmaller

  • @ht448 $5 cmon for real?? give us the brand or website...that sounds a lil to cheap

  • @robbie2737 Look on ebay for 'Spy Key Chain Camera'.

  • @UpgradedWorld Ok,will do...Thanks

  • @robbie2737 Ebay just type (Keyring Cam) take a little time to such as prices are difftrent prices some $15 some $5 like i said and there great quality to Check them out

  • Were do i get the 10$ oone n the 50$ one??

  • cool video

why wont my controller sync with my helicopter i have just bought this from maplin

your click to watch links dont work

  • Now to get one that sends real time video feed.

  • great vid ..patriots like myself use this , b/c when shit hits the fan we need to know where the enemy is at all times!

  • nice vid man :)

  • hi im looking a cam that gives live feed. i want this so i can see where other ppl are in field pellet gun fight do you know where i can find one of these? (there is one on the black ops rc xd car) plz reply

  • 0:25 we are going down.

  • hey,There was three helicopter what is the third one?

  • where usefull video-Thank You so much!

  • What you should try leokim is get a BB gun and shoot the heli while its in the air.maybe even a pellet spring rifle too see if it can take good damage.

  • @EpicRnT i like your thinking here but where i live the gun laws are so tight you can't do any of that anymore, one of the BIG differences between the USA and Australia is gun laws

  • @leokimvideo gun laws are pretty tight in britan too but we can still use BB guns. Luckily i live on a farm with atleast 180 acres of land so i got lots of space to do it with a legal gun or BB without harming any one by sound or anything.

  • @leokimvideo Same in Britan. Maybe that's why the gun crime rate is so low compared to USA.

  • I want one of those Rc Helicopters!

  • I bought a HD808 to do this and a Small dual rotor heli for stability..

  • where do you get those

  • I GOT THIS APACHE :D

  • @MTLC96 it's a pretty good model, really robust and there is now a updated more stable and easier to fly version

  • @MTLC96 same but my crashed into a moving car and then to top it of it got ran over by a truck. lol =)

  • I have this very model - AND a mini camera - I feel an 'Apachecam' about to happen - thanks!!! : )

  • 3:27 Doctor Who TARDIS!!!

  • @cvbbot troll

  • Mate, under $50, you can get these cammeras off ebay for like under $10

  • @leafydave there you go it's now a much cheaper project

  • @leokimvideo

    good point :)

  • peeping tom?

  • @leokimvideo are you south african?

  • OR you can leave your house :3

  • i have about used 50 of these ah-64d apache helicopters for around $40. w/ battery.

email me! if you want one!

  • how do you watch it live while flying so you know where to go and fly and stuff like that ? ?

  • @DinosaurGaming you don't, sadly. you fly around, then land it and bring out the sd card to copy onto your computer.

  • I'm pretty sure you could up the power of the motor so it can lift the camera without much reduction of weight this would probably be costly which would make it harder to keep under $100.

  • @drigonizer I see there are mods which can be done on the net, and they cost. One thing I failed to point out is with this helicopter once you do strip the weight off and don't install a camera it flies like a rocket, in fact it's scary just how fast it can ascend. It seemed pretty stable as well as I though maybe the weight was there to give it some balance.

  • @leokimvideo you could allways put the plasticene back on after you are finished with the camera

  • That is pretty cool to watch!

I've tried that once with my RC plane.

Unfortunately the camerabatterie wasnt charged well enough

    Then the plane crashed :-/

    Tough to handle...

  • Are both of these items sold in the U.S. as well?

  • @ninjakio930 you will need a US tuber to answer this, both items are for sale online, the apache is now a newer model but if you look around carefully the old model can still be found for a very good price

  • @ninjakio930 no

  • lots of effective tricks for attaching a camera while avoiding the bumpy vibrations, very clever

  • Hey, you fly them a lot better than I do :)

  • @BeanMeister22 I will have to admit this chopper is quite stable, that 4 channel alloy framed chopper which I have up as a prize is actually a little tricky to fly

  • why not just duct tape a camera under the helicopter?

  • @Shadowedgamer303 I may be rough, but not that rough!

  • What impresses me most is just how crash-proof your Apache chopper was. I've always found helicopters sexy... think I feel a new hobby obsession coming on!

  • @videowilliams when i purchased the second model about 2 weeks ago it was very cheap as there is now a new version of this rc helicopter, i can't speak on how robust the new model is but it does look like they have reduced the overall weight. lets hope it still has the robustness i found in my old converted model which is around 3 years old now.

  • The crash... Mayday Mayday were going down! Stay with it! D D D D D D D D D D D D D D D D D D D D D D BANG! Great scene!

  • @2009Buzza there was plenty of plummit from the sky stuff, I never really learned how to do a soft landing, crash video will be up soon

  • @leokimvideo I had one of them Im not sure how much it was but it wasnt cheap I was flying it then I tried to land it, it kind of left in pieces, Then I got another one for about the same price and crashed it in a tree. I dont even know how to use RC helicopters.

  • The crash looks like the the camera was mounted under neath and went into a roll. With the camera at the bottom, it made a centrifugal force happen to make it spin wildly.

  • @w4rr10r11 once I get the crash reel up you will see this chopper always had issues coming down, it literally got the death shudders, a few times it fell like a brick and somehow bounced back without a issue, i found this model to be super tough

  • @leokimvideo Can't wait for it. :D

  • @w4rr10r11 on camera positions I found the underneath position seemed to be the most stable, but if the camera started to swing around ( and this was before I added the gaffa tape to stop swing) funny things would start to occur, especially when I powered off.

  • when are you going to finish the mad bomber 2?

  • Now you need to get a wireless camera and figure out how to watch it in real time.

  • @OffTrackProductions i woud love a wireless feed, all this was to prove you could marry up two really cheap things to make something sort of cool.

the camera is robust but the picture quality is so so, it really worked better in overcast days, bright sunshine or extreme contrast would have it rendering some shocking results

dare say thats what you get with a auto everything cheap thing

  • 26th

  • Pretty soon, girls shower rooms will have a "No RC-Camera Helicopters" signs on them !!!

  • @offplanetfilms ah, reminds me of some funny stuff at school, well before camera phones, very revenge of the nerds stuff, ahhhhhh the good old days

  • I love these type videos, thank you for sharing Leo!!

    Thumbs UP~John

  • Its no surprise that park looked empty on the video, the only things not prohibited are walking, talking, running, breathing, humans, and helicopters which turn on their pilots!

  • @PerfectedInserenity that park sign tells us much about how stuffed up the world has become, no wonder the kids are all inside on the internet.

may as well put up a sign HAVE NO FUN and a fine next to that if your caught doing something daring!

please can I go back to 1980 NOW!

  • That was awesome! I really want to try that! Thanks Leo! :D

Using that camera on the helicopter would make a great little action film. Thomas vs. Harold! XD

  • If you use the #3 808 camera you can velcro it right on the side, and use the wide angle Jelly Lens to get a wider field of view.

  • @jeremiahjw does it have a metal housing, this camera was trashed and still works in the crashes which are still to be posted, i'm pretty sure anything plastic would have been smashed by my noobish flying

  • @leokimvideo No, it is plastic, but hard and compact. Imagine trying to smash a key fob.

  • The thing I like most in this vid was your steady cam system.

I know a few people who have really wanted the SteadyCam rig, to help with thier shots, but was a bit out of reach. Your rig looks like a very inventive way to get arround this :)

  • @martin0mac2000 i'm reluctant to do a video on camera tips and tricks as it seems to be such a sluggish subject on the tube, deep down i'm pretty serious about making little things to improve the use of everyday video cameras but I feel it would be a waste of time posting videos on this subject, seems youtube is all about rough and ready and production values are not the big picture here

my most popular videos are nearly all hand held rough shot stuff!

  • @leokimvideo Not for tube vids. these guys are amateur video guys, and have blown i have no clue how much into cameras and bits and peices. most likely combined its in the reigion of $25k!

  • Now hosted - great video Leo, I am going to send it round my subs :)

  • Hi there

Really awesome vid on how to make a spy helicopter. Would be interesting to take a helicopter out and film the surrounding area, or even make some good film shots on a low budget ^^ Great work once again Leo!

    Euan

  • lol, bloody safety warnings now? you're a machine mate. love all the stuff you get up to! what state are you in bloke?

  • @Gazzz87 I'm usually in a state of confusion, as for the local park you can't do anything any more, it's all stuffed!

  • thats just awesome man!, gotta try it one day :D

  • @Aussie50 Velcro saves the day

  • now that is cool :)

  • Great vid :) If you run the footage from the cam through a deshaker filter in virtualdub you will end up with a shake free spy heli, footage from them looks great!

  • You Could Say It's Like A Little Security System In The Sky!

  • This Gives Me A Great Idea To See If I Can Find Criminal Activity In The Area, And Alert The Police If I Can Find Any!

  • ....looks great - I want one!...

  • Great instructional video.. and hours of fun provided.. :)

  • Cool!
